New Mangement 7/29/2010

I went into Petco to get my dog groomed. I heard they are under new management and I thought I would give them a try. Robin was outstanding!!!! He really listened to what I had to say and when he was done, I was so pleased. I will go back more

Tail clipped off! 5/5/2010

About a month ago I followed a friends advice and brought my Pomeranian in to Debbie to be groomed. We ended up picking him up from the Steamboat Island Animal Hospital because she cut the tip of his tail off during grooming. She lied saying it was only a tiny piece. The vet tech got the piece out of the trash and it was a half inch! He ended up having surgery to have it fixed. This was very traumatic to the little guy. I hope no one else has to suffer under this groomers malpractice and neglect again. They have not returned our calls. I'm assuming the vet bill was paid. This was a horrible experience and will never step foot into that store again. more

Good store, not so good dog groomer.... 8/11/2008

This place is great for pet supplies, and prices can be good on things when they are on sale. The grooming department is another story.\r We take our Cocker Spaniel in to be groomed regularly at Steamboat Island, but they got booked up around the holidays and I was desperate to find something quick. I took her in here and mentioned that she had had an ear infection three months earlier. The groomer said that she wouldn't be able to do anything with her ears due to this past infection. When I asked why, she said very condescendingly, "would YOU want someone digging around in your ears if you'd just gotten over an infection?!" When I said again that it had been three months ago, and was now cleared according to the vet, she didn't relent. She said I would have to trust that SHE was the expert in this matter, and that owners often don't know what's best for their pets...she sees it everyday...blah blah blah. \r I should have walked out since she was SO rude, but I stupidly left my dog there more

You've got to love a place that allows pets! They have a huge selection of foods, toys, and accessories for whatever pet strikes your fancy. The staff is always ready to answer your questions with a smile. more
