This is one great place to celebrate and visit.It is steeped in history .Thanks to the Mathews family many military were served and fed by Miss Mathews.They gave many free dinners...

My first visit was during mid-1950's while staying at The Yorktown Inn that sat on ridge with path to the river. The Inn was torn down but we still looked forward to our annual pilgrimage to Nick's in route to VA Beach. No other seafood restaurant in the world could come close to matching. Some in my family wanted the Greek Snapper but I never needed to look at the menu. Give me the Seafood Skish Kalbob with two lobster tails on each end ""Greek style"". Sixty years later, I still dream about it. \r \r What happened to the Chinese man at the end of the red velvet walkway that handed you the menu who never seemed to age? more

Memories of great family vacations.... 6/18/2008

I think that in 2005 Nick's fell victim to the Atlantic Hurricane Season and has never been reopened.\r It was great for several generations and is missed.
