Geat Food Wine and Service! 6/29/2007

Great food, wine and service is indeed found at Croc's! We're locals of VA Beach, and think Croc's is awesome and hear to tell you they are SMOKE-FREE, baby (Way to go!) Check this out: In July/August 2007 Hampton Roads Magazine 25 best deals they are listed as one of the best 25 restaurants in the area for under $25! Wine Enthusiast Magazine also chose them for a wine award. If that isn't convincing enough to go try them then Gourmet Magazine readers raved about their Five Pepper Tuna which is our favorite and cooked to perfection every time! We go with friends on Sunday nights and are ""so loving"" their new Baja Fish Tacos. Locals love Croc's especially what they do for their community for the Rescue Squad, VB City Schools, charities - they're just good neighbors. Thank you Croc's keep up the good work, great food, wine and service! Pros: friendly service, awesome food, award winning wine list with best prices in town more

Don't Eat Here - Not worth the money - an overrated Va Bch institution 6/8/2007

We are Va Bch locals who tried Croc's for the first time tonight. After passing through the smoke from the bar, we were politely seated - even though the host broke a wine glass and had to move us to a second table. We ordered a tuna steak sandwich on a Kaiser roll, a half order of tomato basil fettucini and fish tacos. The tacos were pretty good howver, they were not served with a side order as per the menu. The 1/2 order of fettucini ($9.00) was described as a flavored pasta with a creamy tomato basil sauce and vegetables. What we actually got was a cereal bowl portion of lukewarm dry noodles - no sauce, no veggies. My wife's tuna steak sandwich was over cooked (curling up on the sides) on a stale hamburger bun , not a Kaiser roll. We have never sent food back before at any restaurant, but we did ask them to take the noodles away and bring my daughter a salad. Our waitress was very nice (if tenative) and she did mention our issue with the tuna to the owner who apparently told her that the roll was NOT stale and he couldn't do anything about the overcooked tuna. It took us over an hour to be served even though we were one of only three tables inside the restaurant. A big table of girls seated next to us before we arrived didn't receive their food until well after we were served. Suffice to say, we will not be back. And we would not recommend this supposedly award winning restaurant to visitors to VB, there are many wonderful restaurants which deserve your patronage more. Pros: Bar scene ambiance Cons: Food a poor value more

Fun place after dinner's over 3/28/2007

I've never been here to eat. After the dinner crowd clears, on Thursday night's it becomes a club of sorts. They switch between a ""dj"" and a live band. I'm not usually a fan of live bands, but they've always been fantastic! They play great classic covers that always get the crowd dancing. They have an outdoor patio to get some fresh air in the summer, because the place WILL be packed! Friday nights they're open, but might not seem like it. Small crowd, but they have hooka specials. Fun to just sit around with friends and smoke their different flavors of tabacco. Recommend bubble gum or coconut! more
