DISAPPOINTING, NOT WORTH THE MONEY FOR THE SERVICE 7/29/2011

DISAPPOINTING, NOT WORTH THE MONEY FOR THE SERVICE. Made an appointment at 11am, was called back to see if I could make it at 930 instead. I was OK with the change. I was excited because I was going to have a hair color, hair cut and a mani. I also need to mention I was using a Living Social voucher. Once there I was not impressed with the customer service. The young lady who attended seemed lost and kept asking the older lady, who I think was the owner, where things were and what she needed to do. The older lady also made it rudely clear that I did not have much of an option in hair color and hair cut since I had the LIVING SOCIAL VOUCHER.(there was nothing in the fine print in regards to this) IF SHE WANTS NEW CUSTOMERS TO COME BACK SHE NEEDS TO CHANGE HER APPROACH. I noticed a young man come in and he waited very little before he was asked if he wanted something to drink. They never asked me and I waited a lot longer. Made me think just because I had a voucher they were treating me different. LESS THAN A CUSTOMER. I was very disappointed in everything. The hair color was not what I had asked for. the mani was not good, the cut was OK. more

Good Professional Salon 5/3/2008

I was reading other reviews and the two bad ones must have been from people who have never been to a professional salon (supercuts is not a professional salon, it's a chop-shop) Up until I began moving around I had been going to a stylist who was taught by a member of the Cosmotology Board, the guys who set the standard. This gal was pro to the teeth! I have since been struggling to find a good salon in the area that was reasonably priced and Avida was just that. Lex did a great job on my hair, she was also able to evaluate what had been done to my hair last time. She talked with me about my needs in a haircut and my goals with my hair and she worked with my hair's texture to create a wonderfully sleek bob that even when I didn't blowdry it looked fantastic. I haven't been to the Lee Trevino location, but the Basset place one was just fine for my hair cut needs. Pros: Very professional, a name I trust in salon products Cons: The Basset Center location only has a few of the many services they provide more

WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT.....HELL NO !!! 5/1/2008

I WENT THERE HOPING TO GET THE ""VICTORIA BECKHAM "" HAIRCUT. WELL IT LOOKED MORE LIKE DAVID BECKHAM BY THE TIME THEY WERE DONE. I HARDLY HAD ANY HAIR LEFT. THE GIRL KEPT CUTTING AND CUTTING FROM THE BACK SUPPOSIVELY TAPERING IT. I LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE JUST RAN A LAWNMOWER THROUGH THE BACK OF MY HEAD. I HAD TO ASK THE GIRL TO STOP. i TOLD HER THIS IS WAS CLEARLY NOT WHAT I HAD ASKED FOR SINCE I HAD SHOWED HER A PICTURE UPON ARRIVAL. THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS GONNA PAY FOR SOMETHING I DIDN'T ASK FOR. I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER AS WELL AND LET HIM KNOW. HE SAID I COULDN'T LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING AND I TOLD HIM""WATCH ME"". HE THREATENED TO CALL SECURITY SO I TOLD HIM TO GO AHEAD AND ALSO LET HIM KNOW WHAT AREA I HAD PARKED AT SO THEY COULD FIND ME IF THEY HAD A PROBLEM. SURE ENOUGH AS I WAS PUTTING MY DAUGHTER BACK IN HER SEAT, SECURITY CAME. THEY STATED"" I UNDERSTAND YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR SOME SERVICES""? I REPLIED, ""WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IS THAT THESE MOTHER *UCKERS *UCKED UP MY HAIR AND IF THIS LOOKED LIKE A HAIRCUT TO YOU THEN YOU PAY THEM"". I GOT IN MY TRUCK AND DROVE OFF. Loyal Customer 4/30/2008

I have been a customer of Avida Salon for many years. Every time I need a boost of energy or confidence I make an appointment and get pampered like I've never been pampered before. I can't say much for the Bassett Place location because I've only had my eye brows waxed at that location, but the Lee Trevino location is FABULOUS!!! Angie is by far the best when it comes to manicures and pedicures. Jeannette is the BEST stylist to ever touch my hair. I go in there and just let her do her thing. I only have to tell her that I'm a mother of two, I'm not allowed to get too funky with the coloring because of my job, and I'm lazy when it comes to doing my hair. She's never failed me and every time I come home from the salon everyone is amazed at how wonderful my hair looks. The massages are out of this world and the facials just make you feel like a princess. more

Wanna get hair done? How about get humiliated and insulted?‎ 4/12/2008

Yesterday on 04/11/2008 when I walked in to have my hair colored I said I need a specialist with the colors. The stylists advised to do the tone and not the bleach. Of course I agreed not to damage my hair. But the color did not turn the way we expected. So the stylist called a manager, who was pretty agressive. She told the girl to dry my hair and see if I like it. Half of my hair was purple, half yellow. Who would like it? They decided to do the tone again, but the manager said that with my hair I would have to go bleach. I said Ok, let us do bleach. She got really upset at this point and said that this was not what I was asking for at the beginning, that it was my choice. I decided to get up and leave, BUT SHE PUSHED ME BACK INTO THE SEAT TWICE saying: ""No. we will do the tone."" I managed to get up and leave the back room where this happened. They charged me $40, when I came back to get my money back (I realized: what am I paying for?!) this manager after quite a conversation threw the money at me saying: ""I hope you will enjoy your money!"" Poor customer sevrvice, Employees have ""better than You"" snobby attitude 2/9/2008

My wife was recently treated very poorly at Avida's Bassett Place location to the point of tears when she returned home. They claim it was because my three year old ""moved around too much"", but the snobbish service began well before the haircut was to begin. She made a reservation and told them it was for a child, but when she arrived, it was ""we are too good for you"" at first sight. Everyone knows how it feels to be looked at as if they did not belong at a certain kind of store. We weren't shopping for Royal Jewelry, just a simple boy's haircut at the local mall. My wife used to go there regularly, and the person who normally took care of her was not there. Regardless, we will now take our money elsewhere, and we suggest you do the same. Pros: large exit space, run for your life ! Cons: Snobby service, employees imagine themselves to be way more than they ought to. more
