Manchaca Fire Hall Kitchen

Had a great party at the firehall in Manchaca - The Firehall Community Center Pavilion. The folks were helpful, kind and can cook that catfish! Do not know where Lyn was - but we had a clean, nice place to set up on a Saturday around 10. The bathrooms are outdoor bathrroms as syou would find them in a park - but they even had clean rugs around each stall - and the bathrooms were real clean for us.\r \r We had an open bar - 2.50 for any type of beer or wine - the catfish was delicious - but better try their homemade cole slaw! It was MY favorite! \r \r The owner was kind, generous, and didn't have any problems whatsoever! (think Lyn may of had the attitude problem?)\r \r Cy! Pros: Best Catfish in Texas! Cons: No A/C - but -plenty of air and fans! more

Rented FireHall for a party & was promised by the owner that the place would be clean in time for us to decorate. My family cleaned for 5 hrs. b/c it was filthy from the night before. Their idea of cleaning is wiping the tables down w/ filthy rags & blowings food to the corners w/ a leaf blower. I know the covered hall is partially outdoor so didn't expect it to be perfect but food & sticky drinks spilled all over the floor need to be cleaned. The daughter of the owner was extremely the worst. As soon as we showed up she made her ugly faces at us. Got mad when we asked her to open the gate to let us in, or clean and do what we were told would be done. I have never been treated so horrible in my life. The bathrooms were filthy from the night before and when I asked her to clean it she looked at me crazy and snapped, ""They're not clean enough for you."" Threw her arms up and said she wasn't doing anything.So in a crunch we cleaned it ourselves. She had no reason to be that way with us. The invites had been sent and what options did we have. Luckily a place near by (VFW across the road) was available and more then welcoming. We packed everything and left. We decorated the other hall in 30 min. & we didn't have to clean a thing when we left but we picked up most of it. Party turned out great b/c we moved locations. Even how we were treated the owner demanded we pay him in full after we put up with his daughter and cleaned the entire area. I'll never go there again and I'll recommend you take your business else where. Oh yea the security saw the owner of the firehall driving through the vfw parking lot to see if we were there....treat your customers better and they won't take the business elsewhere........BEWARE!!!!! rating is required they deserve nothing Cons: EXTREMELY RUDE DAUGHTER OF OWNER more

Big patio with free music on Friday nights- Beer is only 2.50 for all brands== We had a group of 20+\r They set us up tables on the patio==We had a blast for little money. Not everyone got the catfish-which was wonderful at 10.95-and all u can eat, and eat,and eat...... some of us ate off the menu inside ==no one was disapointed. We'l be back with more friends \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r Pros: very relaxed, inexpensive, crowd friendly Cons: almost too kid friendly, parents don't always control their children-- not owners fault more

We thought this would be a fun family outing for my out of town relatives and our daughter. The music wasn't even good enough to entertain my one year old, the food was sub-par(the tartar sauce wasn't even on ice) and the $11.95 price tag was ridiculous. They also only give you one plate and you are supposed to re-use that.
