As far as the other review goes, I'm not sure I understand why Ackerman's should repair an item bought else where, as they are not primarily a repair service. I had excellent experience with them for several years, and their prices were good! They were great when my washing machine needed repair, went beyond the ordinary. However they just gave up on repairing my stove, for which they'd have to travel, but they were charging for it! I called three times and no one from service ever called me back. I bought a stove, refrigerator, and washer/dryer from them. more

This company tries to force county residents to buy the top brands like Miele, Electrolux, Leibherr, and other ranges and refrigerators you won't get at places like Sears by REFUSING TO REPAIR THESE SAME BRANDS IF YOU BOUGHT THEM ELSEWHERE. This sticks you with a 'Catch 22"" on warranty. When we tried to get our ASKO dishwasher repaired, for example, Ackerman's told ASKO they'd service us, then failed to show up for weeks, then when we got really after them, they admitted they ""won't repair what they don't sell directly to the warranty holder. They claim this isn't fraud. But, it's restraint of trade. I had bought a vacuum cleaner from them, but they wouldn't repair our Asko - even though it made the move with us. It cost us $200 in 'ftravel time' to finally get a repair. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS OUTFIT, AND TELL ALL OTHERS TO STAY AWAY. They are bad faith and bad news. After shopping at Michael's and Earl B. Feiden, we selected Ackerman's because of their bid, quite a bit lower than the rest. We paid Ackerman's a check for the full amount. Everything was great until we discovered many mis-ordered items, and then the most insulting of all. We were accused of not paying the sales tax. We paid what we were told to pay. Their bid was too good to be true and rather than admit they made a mistake, they accused us of cheating them. My strong recommendation is to use a different supplier. Pay a bit more and get better service and less aggravation. By the way, anyone want to buy a toe kick that they mis-ordered, hood items?
