I attempted to sign up for a membership at Darque Tan. According to the website www.darquetan the Level 5 beds are $58.88 per month. I arrived with a Facebook gift certificate of $25.00. I was laughed at when I mentioned the $58.88 advertised price. Assuming I was mistaken I signed up for the same package at a rate of $88.88.
I was then informed that the gift certificate was only applicable on lotions. After showing the certificate (that mentioned no limitations) the clerk offered to go ahead and apply the credit. The computer would not accept the credit as my prorated monthly bill only came to $22.xx. I asked her to go ahead and bill me for the following month as well to raise the total? the system would not allow it. I asked her to apply it to my next month. She said that was not possible.
The clerk offered me a tan and told me I would need to speak with the owner. The tanning bed I was in had a light burned out.
I had chosen to do business with Darque Tan based on their online prices and promotions. Neither their prices nor promotions were actually honored when I went to sign up.
While there the two customers that I saw were either suspending their membership or complaining about their account balance being inaccurate.
I set an appointment to meet with the owner to resolve these issues. When I arrived I was told that he just left for the bank and would be back in about an hour. I left a printout from www.darquetan showing the advertised price of $58.88. I received a message from the receptionist that the owner would like to speak with me? she left the wrong callback number.
When I called in to follow up I was told that they would give me a refund and I could take my business elsewhere. When I stated that I would like to do business with them I would simply like to pay the advertised price I was informed that they had the right to to refuse service to anybody.
Beware that this company will advertise one thing and deliver another. As well, no matter how civilized you approach them, they have no interest in resolving any issues that may arise. If you have an account with them keep a good record of your payments and charges.
