Sidetrack

The last 2-3 times i was there the buns have been wet. Gross wont be back for awhile. more

Don't let the other reviews fool you, Sidetracks gets way too many handicap points for being some sort of local institution, where the elite of Ypsilanti go to meet and the cool people go to say they've been there. The service is consistently terrible, it's always crowded because there's too many tables for the space, now that they've expanded into the storefront next door they haven't bothered to increase their waitstaff or build any sort of efficient pass-through to the other side so it takes the staff twice as long to get orders out. The wife and I waited about an hour yesterday, got our drink order 15 minutes into it, and only after we said we were leaving did our food come. At that point, it was too late; either it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes or they were just trying to make up for things, either way, this was by no means the first time we'd had bad service there. I don't recommend it; poor Ypsilanti has a dearth of quality places to eat in terms of service, people will just have to head to A2 or Canton and go to some of the major chains where you can at least get good service. Sidetracks is a true gem of Washtenaw County, if not all of Southeast Michigan. I never make it out during ""traditional happy hour"", but that's ok because Sidetracks has a late happy hour! This would not by itself be extraordinary, but there are at least 16 beers on tap, from Michigan, Germany, Ireland, Holland, UK, Canada, etc? During the late night happy hour, all beers are $2.95 for a 25oz draft, and all liquor is half off! Late happy hour is 11pm-1am. I can't say much about the early Happy hour, I'm always working during those times, and you should be too! ;) The Burgers are Great, among the best I've had, but that's the extent of my knowledge of the food menu. There are three patios open during late spring, all summer and into early autumn. If you get to Ypsilanti, or any where near you MUST visit Sidetracks. It's not a club, there is no dance floor and there are no pool tables, but there IS a great fireplace, televisions to catch the big game, and all the ambiance you could ask for. Did I say that there is a Late Happy Hour 7 days a week? Pros: 3 Patios, Great Late night happy Hour, always buzzing with activity Cons: Can get very busy, to me that's a pro though... I love company more

We had heard and heard about this place and finally went there. What a nice find. Could not of been happier with the selections of beer and food. I could of written their beer list myself. The food was as good as any fancy restaurant in Detroit. The burgers are exceptional. We dined outside the patio and a train went within 10 feet. Pros: burgers, beers, atmosphere Cons: no dancing, no pool table more

Don't get me wrong. When you walk in, you'll think you've stumbled into your average neighborhood bar. However, the menu is great. My wife found out that they're very vegetarian friendly (rare for such a place). I really like the Fish & Chips, and I haven't found anything bad in my visits.
