I should've known that a local appliance retailer just can't compare to the big-box retailers. Shopping with Poirier was hands-down the worst customer service experience of my life. It made me feel dirty. \r
Our salesman was barely helpful: we researched the items we wanted to buy and gave him the model numbers. He looked the models up in his three-ring binder, and told us the price. He was condescending toward my wife (he asked if she was planning to cook a roast in the microwave!!), and was slow as molasses running uphill in winter. I set those things aside, however, because I believe in supporting local businesses.\r
Unfortunately, after spending over $8000.00 on a Wolf dual fuel range, a Bosch dishwasher, a stainless steel chimney hood, and a microwave, Poirier refused to exchange the microwave we had chosen for a more expensive model. Why? Just because. They didn't feel like it, I guess. It's not like we used the microwave or something...we just opened the box and realized it wouldn't fit in our new kitchen. Shame on you, Poirier. I'll never shop with you again.\r
They should change their name to Poirier Sales. Having ""service"" in their name is totally misleading.
Pros: Locally Owned and Operated. A family business
Cons: returns not accepted, lacking in customer service basics, closed Sundays
