Choose your caterer wisely! There are caterers who charge low prices which usually means one of two things, they are using low quality foods, or have no confidence in themselves. more

A wonderful experience 6/21/2011

I purchased a designer gown that was quite expensive. I was told that to add built in bust cups, a bustle, and pulling the sweetheart neckline down 1 inch further. I was told it would cost me half as much as my dress, (thousands) only for the alterations. Heart pounding, I asked the store to not alter it. I was referred to brides to be for both our groomsmen 9 tuxes and my alterations. I am very happy with my dress alteration and it cost me $150 instead of $2500. My wedding is Saturday and I owe everything to Sunny and her staff. My dress turned out beautiful and i couldn't be happier! Thank you!! more

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! 4/25/2011

I was referred to this shop for altering after a horrible experience at a different bridal shop. Sonny was very professional and extremely fast. My daughter had just 3 1/2 weeks until her wedding and hadn't had the first fitting yet. Sonny had no problem getting 3 fittings in and the dress was perfect in plenty of time for the wedding. Her price was great and the service was amazing. She turned a very bad, stressful experience into a very calm one that my daughter could rely on. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop. more

Horrible, AWFUL experience!! 10/16/2010

I got marred in May of 2009, and purchased two gowns on closeout from an online retailer. I couldn't decide between the two dresses initially, but when I finally settled, I went to Brides To Be for my alterations. They said they'd be happy to make the alterations even though I had purchased the dress somewhere else, and told me it would take two weeks and had me pay UP FRONT for the alterations ($50) and for steam pressing the dress (an additional $40). Paying for everything up front should have probably been my first clue to find a new bridal shop.... When I stopped by two weeks later to pick up the dress (they had written the pickup date on my receipt), they informed me that they HAD NOT EVEN STARTED THE ALTERATIONS. They asked me to come back the next week. The following week, I called first before stopping by, and they said they needed ANOTHER week -- that they were VERY busy. I informed them that my wedding was only 10 days away, and they assured me it would be done. With only 3 days before my wedding, they had me come in to try on the altered dress. It didn't fit well in the bust, and they had cut it off as requested (I decided I wanted it tea length for our semi-casual wedding), but they had left this funky bit of material in the back where part of the train had been! I asked them to fix it, reminding them that I was getting married in 3 DAYS, and they said to come back the DAY BEFORE the wedding and they'd have it finished....yeah, right!! :( Needless to say, I left there SO upset that when I returned home, my friends convinced me to try on the second dress I had purchased and still had on hand. I did, and with their suggestions and a few small accessory additions, we ended up making it work perfectly for my wedding. They also suggested that I immediately call the shop and tell them to finish the dress alterations, but not have it steam pressed because I would no longer be wearing it for my wedding, and to REFUND my $40 for the pressing charge. They said they would do so, but NEVER CREDITED my card. I asked them about this a second time, and again, the $40 was NEVER credited to my account. :( I never did go back to their shop to pick up my first dress...I wanted to, since I had already paid for it -- thinking I might dye it and salvage it for another event -- but I finally ended up just leaving it there. I was afraid it would be wrong yet AGAIN, and then I would have a reminder of the stress they caused me while preparing for my wedding. I would suggest that you avoid this bridal shop all together, and save yourself the heartache!! more

The end result is worth the wait!!! 2/9/2010

I am having my dress made by the actual designer that works through Sunny's Brides to be. Sunny is very sweet and was very helpful. I saw the dress I wanted at a bridal show on a Saturday, and went in that following Monday to get it. They did not carry the dress I wanted, so I have to order it. Sunny was great in visioning the addition to the dress I want made, and the addition was affordable. Pros: Very easy to work with, great prices more

Middle Experience Check in 9/22/2009

So far the experience has been great. Still waiting for the end product. But the service is great. I never would have thought I would find a dress when I drove by... but there was a lot to choose from and they were super helpful. more

Best price, best service, great selection and custom gowns! 1/15/2009

The owner of Brides to Be is an incredibly kind, knowledgeable person, who should be recognized for her tremendous talent. I approached her with a vision of the wedding gown I'd like to create. She quoted a fair price and then went to work making a custom gown. All along the way, with each fitting, she listened to my requests as we tweaked things here and there. When I put on the gown during the final fitting, I began to cry. She was able to capture exactly what I had described! And best of all, the custom gown cost half the price of the off-the-rack gown I had chosen elsewhere. Brides to Be has a huge selection of wedding gowns, with the best prices I've seen in the Valley, as well as tons of bridesmaids gowns, veils, accessories and shoes. Oh, and her shop is open until 7pm during the week! more

Sunny is the best in town. She makes buying your dress a wonderful experience! 1/8/2009

I came across this bridal boutique years ago when all of my other friends were getting married. I never thought in a million years that I would be able to purchase my OWN wedding gown! As soon as my mom and I walked in, Sunny met us with a bright smile and listened to me. I expressed what I liked and didn't like. She chose 3 dresses for me and the 3rd one was the charm. My mom and I couldn't have asked for such a wonderful and easy experience. We recently went back to Sunny's shop to purchase my mother's dress. She found something that is beautiful, 'young' and flattering. My bridesmaids and flower girl will be purchasing their dresses from here also. SO MUCH BETTER THAN DAVID'S BRIDAL! Save your money and have a more personal experience. Pros: Intimate Cons: None! more

Friendly, good customer service 4/3/2008

I was looking for a store near where I live to get some minor alterations for my wedding and bridesmaid dresses. I knew that I needed to have my wedding dress shortened in length and the straps on my bridesmaid dress shortened as well. When I was at the store, they were very helpful and recommended that I also have built-in bra padding added to both dresses, which I agreed would be a good idea. However, I believe there was a miscommunication between the sales associate and seamstress because when I picked up my dresses they forgot to add in the bra padding to the bridesmaid dress ? and to top it off I didn?t notice this until I got home with the dresses! I immediately called the store back and explained that I wanted and paid for padding in both dresses but only ended up with padding in one dress. The sales associate apologized and wanted me to bring the dress back in as soon as I had time. I took the dress back and the seamstress sewed the padding in on the spot! I was slightly disappointed that my order was completed inaccurately but I felt like the store handled the situation properly. I would go back if I need alterations in the future but I would make very clear exactly what I wanted done and also make sure the dress had been completed according to the order before leaving the store. more

Small, but VERY helpful 1/22/2008

I first experienced this store about 7 years ago as a bridesmaid. I didn't get my dress from here, but the bride had her bussel and alterations done here, and our bridesmaids' dresses had cups put in for top support. They were VERY affordable and did an excellent job. A few years later, I was in another wedding, and referred other bridesmaids to have their alterations and inserts placed for upper support there. Again, an excellent, affordable job. The ladies that manage the place are friendly and very helpful. A few years after that- My sister was married and they altered her dress , pressed it and re-beaded it beautifully, only 2 months before her wedding. She had a VERY quick engagement. Her dress was simple and elegant, but when they completed it it was even more lavish in its simplicity. My bridesmaid's dress was also altered in a very short time. This time as a bride- I did not purchase my bridal gown there, but am definitely going to have my bridesmaids order from them. It's a small shop, so things can be slow moving when it's busy. ( There are only 3 dressing rooms). However, if you are patient with them, they are the utmost help for you when your time comes. Even while looking before trying on, they will assist you and start your ""try on"" pile. You can tell they work VERY hard and that customer service is important to them, and they won't try to overprice their items. Excellent!!! more
