I decided to switch to Dr. Cohen after my husband had a pre-op appointment with him. He was so personable and carrying! You don't see that in doctors now days. When I came for my first physical he ordered a routine b-test just to see how my chemical balance is. I have a one of the best insurance coverages therefore didn't even think to call the insurance to see if they would cover this. Couple of months later I receive a bill from St. Francis Hospital (where I did the b-test) for $560! I was puzzled and couldn't think what it was for. Apparently, that was the leftover amount that my insurance didn't pay for the b-test. I was shocked! Who orders routine b-test that cost $1000 or more? I don't' know how to handle this now. I called Dr. Cohen's office and they couldn't tell me anything. I asked them in the future to warn people to call their insurance ahead. The staff is not helpful at all. Just be aware.
