A Great Inexpensive Haircut 3/2/2007

More than a neat name... 7/6/2006

Besides having a great name that pays tribute to one of the most famous bands to start out of San francisco, the Grateful head is not a bad place to get a haircut. I suggest going to Francis, who also is the owner. She is a friendly lady who does a good job on my cuts all the time. Moderately priced at $14 for a normal haircut. Also in a great location , I usually get a haircut, get a wash, and have dinner at one of many spots in the West portal area. Pros: friendly staff, comparable prices... more

Waste of time and money 10/4/2004

I decided to try out this salon because it was priced the same as the supercuts down the street, and I thought I might get a better haircut for the same price. Boy was I wrong! The hairdresser who cut my hair did not know the meaning of ""tapered,"" ""graded"" or ""very short in back,"" and after asking her to cut it shorter four times, I finally left, went home, and cut it in my bathroom. At least supercuts would have washed my hair for the same price (this place charges extra for wash and styling) Pros: good location Cons: , lacks atmosphere, overpriced more
