I would like to start out with the positive... The hotel is very nice and they did a great remodel from years ago. The beds are comfy and it seems like a first class hotel. However, this hotel gives me the creeps! We were supposed to stay 2 days but I had to leave after 1. There was a dead person in one of the rooms (I guess on ice or something). I'm not sure of the entire story but I guess there was a drug dealer living there and someone od'd? I'm not quite sure but that's all I could think about when I was there and it creeped me out. If you don't care about that kind of stuff you will probably enjoy it. Pros: great rooms Cons: scary place more

The Fairmont Newport Beach has been remodeled and is LOVELY with Great Service, Spa and Food 8/2/2007

Having visited the hotel on two occasions this year alone, I can honestly say that this is one of the finest hotels in Newport Beach. After spending more than $30 million on a complete remodel, the hotel now has amazing guest rooms that offer luxurious beds, high-quality linens and flat screen TVs. The hotel also offers a new Willow Stream Spa, a fully equipped fitness center and a great pool deck covered with palm trees and bright yellow cabanas with flat screen TVs and WiFi that you can reserve for the day at an affordable price. Also, at the bambu Restaurant, I enjoyed one the best Sunday Brunch that I've had in years. The entire staff is great, very friendly, capable and eager to help. I love the attention they pay to children with their toy trolley and the concierge staff was ""spot on"" with recommendations for things to do in the area. Also, the complimentary shuttle to Fashion Island, South Coast Plaza and Balboa Island was indispensable.\r \r We also love the close proximity to the airport and all other local attractions.\r \r When we travel to the OC, we always stay at the Fairmont Newport Beach, and I would recommend that you do the same. Pros: Great Service, food, pool, spa Cons: None to mention more

Poor quality/horrible service. 4/18/2005

Not a luxury hotel by any standard - I understand from the staff that there is new ownership and they are dramatically cutting costs. It shows - it was probably a nice hotel ten years ago, but today it is motel six with better bones. No service - call room service and if they answer at all, will deliver the wrong order an hour later. Front desk personnel shouldn't be hired to work at MacDonald's! It is pretty bad. It is just your basic airport hotel. Pros: airport location Cons: service, airport noise, run down more
