Best

I was looking for a hot tub and am so glad I found Country Homes! The salesman who helped me was incredibly personable and knew his stuff! He helped me understand the differences ...

Worst

All sounds wonderful coming from the sales persons mouth. Its all forgotton once the sale is made.

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/13/2013

DO NOT buy anything from Country Homes Power Equipment! They have the worst customer service and won't stand behind their products. We bought a lawn mower there 3 weeks ago and after using it twice it doesn't start up without pulling it quite a few times, It is leaking gas, and they expect me to drive it 45 minutes from my house in my explorer to get it fixed. Even though it is LEAKING GAS. We bought it from the valley store. They will not help us get it transported to the North Store where their ""service"" department is. It would be different if something went wrong a few months after owning it, it has only been used twice and on a small lawn. We purchased it April 20th. They were rude each time on the phone and when we told them we were going to write a complaint to the BBB, they threatened to never help us or touch our lawn mower again. more

Great Service, Great Experience 2/28/2011

I was looking for a hot tub and am so glad I found Country Homes! The salesman who helped me was incredibly personable and knew his stuff! He helped me understand the differences between the different lines they carry, and helped me figure out what I would be using the spa for. I never for one second felt like I was being sold to! They definately put the customer's needs and wants first and Country Homes. more

Poor followup 4/1/2010

Bought 3 items @ N. Division store over $6000.00 total. After the sale they don't follow up with a thank you or remember who you are. Items one in particular was mis represented just to make the sale, customer satisfaction is not their primary goal but sales is. Promises & claims will be made but not on paper! GET IT IN WRITING if you choose to do business with them !!! If you go to all 3 stores you get a different story on products for comparison - maybe they go to 3 differents schools LOL Pros: name brands Cons: company uses used car lot techniques more

Chainsaw Tuneup Scam 10/21/2009

I'm very disappointed in the service of Country Homes Power Equipment. \r \r I purchased a new Stihl chainsaw Farm Boss in the Summer of 2008. At that time they offer a package to purchase a spare chain and 3 tuneups for roughly the price of a new chain. It seems like an easy decision. The catch is that you have to do the tuneups during their slow time in January and Febrary. I still agreed.\r I cut about 5 cord of wood and the saw was everything I hoped for.\r \r February came around and I had to use my 1st tuneup coupon. Eventhough the saw probably didn't need anything, I brought it in anyway.\r \r In September go to cut wood again and I drain out the fuel with stabilizer and put new fuel and oil with stabilizer like stihl recommends, and start the saw. I limb a down tree and can't get through the first cut before it stalls. It stalls when you give it any gas. I check the air filter chain tension and everything one usually does when this happens before I feel its a plugged jet or carb issue. I was frustraded so I got my old echo chainsaw out filled it with gas and finished the day.\r \r I called the service department at the northside and they said to bring it in. When its done the clerk said $80.00. I explained what happened and he told me that it was old bad gas and that is not warrenty. I told them this was the 1st use since I got it back from a tuneup. They didn't care. I said it dosen't seem fair that if it comes back from Country Homes from a tuneup, it should run even if it was 6 months. He dissagreed. He said I should drain the gas every month and run it for 5 minutes with new gas and that gas can go bad in a month. He also told be that Stihl was behind in technology because the carb jets are getting smaller and gas is getting worse and it happens.\r \r He really didn't talk good about Stihl for being a Stihl Dealer. I said why would I come back as a repeat customer and he said that this is the best he can do. I said full price was the best he could do to keep a customer and he said yes.\r \r My first thought is that the FREE tuneup they give you January really makes you PAY for a tuneup in the fall.\r \r I will drive to Post Falls Idaho to get all my Stihl chainsaw needs and not recommed Country Homes to anybody Pros: They are a Stihl Dealer Cons: They Don't Stand Behind Their Service more

Out over $3000 - Stove not up to code - Now over 3 Months to get job done - Winter Coming! OUCH!! 11/3/2008

We are very disappointed with the service provided by this company. We hired these ""professionals"" to install a woodstove in our home over 3 months ago. We promptly paid them over $3,000. To make a long story short-it has been over 3 months and even given multiple tries to fix the installation and bring this stove up to code - this company has failed to provide the stove and installation we paid for. It is now very close to winter and we cannot use our stove. A brief note on the history of this installation. We decided to go through one company to get our job done. The company installer arrived to install our stove-he drilled the hole in our roof and through our wall and then told us he didn't have the right pipe to finish the job. He was going to come back and bring the pipe at an apt. set for the same week. The apt. came and went with no word from the installer. We changed our schedule to meet him for the scheduled apt. the next day he called to expain that he had to use the pipe for our job at the job he did before ours. We weren't thrilled, but we scheduled another apt. to get the job done. He missed this apt. as well. We ended up waiting several weeks for him to bring the correct pipe. Finally, the job was finished and the inspector came and said our stove wasn't installed up to code. We waited for the installer to come and remedy the problem. It took him several tries to keep. his scheduled apts. Finally he came, but his solution looked bad and still was not up to code. We've had troubles getting attention and responses. The problem still is not fixed. The other day they contacted us to tell us that we may have to pay for a more expensive stove to solve the clearance problems caused by the installer. They are blaming the installation difficulties on us rather than taking personal responsibility for their installation problems. We've learned that you do not pay for a job until after it passes code. Pros: Nice Looking Wood Stoves Cons: Poor Attention to Code Details, Unfriendly and Slow to Address Installation Issues more
