HORRIBLE!!!! RUN AWAY!!!! 1/12/2012

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Food is an embarrassment to Persian food (go to Mirage - they rock). I GOT SICK from the tadig (crispy rice) because it was old and had been sitting in oil. Service is TERRIBLE! Servers have no clue what they're doing and mess orders up all the time. It takes an average of ONE HOUR to get your food. Been there several times only because they have flamenco shows. It took 15 minutes to bring a beer (that was still in the bottle). Prices are obscene compared to the quality of the food. Owner is rude and arrogant. I was charged for $17 worth of food I didn't order. Bathrooms are disgusting. THIS PLACE SUCKS. Don't waste your money and time. \r more

Great Persian Food/Belly dancing 8/14/2011

I have been to this restaurant couple of times. The Food, (kabob, curry etc.) are great. This is perhaps the best Persian restaurant in town. One more thing...the Saturday night belly dancing goes very good with my drinks. A definite recommendation. I would like to share a deal on QuarterOFF. com, $30 gift certificate available for $15. I am looking forward to buy at least couple of them.... more

OMG! AWESOME PERSIAN CUISINE!!!!!!!!!!!! 10/29/2010

I have never had Persian Food and to my surprise it was DELICIOUS! I had the lunchtime buffet and I will be back. It was sooooooooooooooo good! \r \r The staff was kind and the Owner was welcoming. The food was seasoned to perfection and the ambiance was just right. They have an area where you can sit on a nice Persian rug and dine with a nice size party. If you want to try something new Fanoos Persian Cuisine is the place to go.\r \r Oh and it was clean. That is very important to me. I forgot to add that they make bread fresh in the back corner of the restaurant. It was really cool watching the process.\r \r Hope that you try it and enjoy it as much as I did. I am looking forward to returning on an evening where they have live entertainment. more

Great Persian Cuisine 7/11/2010

I have never tried Persian cuisine in my life. My friend brought me here last Friday and I had a very gratifying dining experience. The food was superb. It was full of flavors and it was definitely a mouth-watering experience for me. The service was good and the staff was very attentive. I would love going back to this place. more

Like it!!!! 4/14/2010

I was visiting this restaurant last Saturday with my friends. It was not the first time we were there and for sure not the last! It's a great restaurant with delicious food!!!! And actually its not the only place where you can eat, they got a great dancing place where everybody dance with their beautiful belly-dancer. Service was great! our nice waiter didnt mind to make 10 separate checks and I could tell, that not every restaurant will accept it. We are really appreciate it. I would recommend this restaurant to everybody! Thanks for great time!! more

Terrible Experience, Terrible Restuarant - Avoid it ! 3/20/2010

We went to Fanoos last night for the Persian New Year. What a horrible and humilating experience. At the insistance of a friend, we decided to attend Fanoos's Celebration. We had gone to Fanoos before and our experience had been terrible. Their food had been poorly prepared, they had been used food from the afternoon launch, the waitresses specially a blond one had been extremely rude, the music was loud and upsetting and finally their bathrooms had been dirty. My friend insisted that they have changed that I should attend the celebration. So I took off from work and took my wife there. We got there and were told that they were full! We said fine, we ll just go some place else. My wife thought that it would be only polite if she would let our friends know that we were going some place else. Therefore, she walked toward our friends' table to say goodbye, Only to have her hand yanked by their security gaurd. Mr. Jalal does not understand this is not ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN. You cannot ASSAULT PEOPLE SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WANT TO WALK OVER TO A TABLE! THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. We walked away, with my wife's and my nerves rattled by their savage behaviour. I wanted to file a complaint with the Sandy Spring's Police Department but my wife thought that it was not worth it. I have nothing against the security guard as she was following the order of management. I put up with their terrible service of waiting for half hour just to have to your order taken, I put up with their terrible tasting food and I put up with their rude waitresses but i cannot put up with their assault against my wife and their savage behaviour. Pros: None! Cons: Terrible Service, Rude Waitress, Awful Food more

Very pleasant and satisfying 1/22/2010

I have always had a pleasant dining experience at Fanoos. I eat during the workday lunch buffet which serves well-prepared dishes: dolmas, salad, tahini, tender beef, chicken and lamb, saffron rice, white rice, fresh fruit, and more dishes I cannot recall. Hot and tasty fresh bread is brought to the table and the baker can be seen making the bread in the corner of the restaurant. Their hot Persian tea is wonderful and comes with free refills. The choice of music while dining is always enjoyable and lends to the spacious, ethnic atmosphere, and the service is attentive and friendly. One disappointment is, ever since the recession, they have taken some items off their buffet and raised the price $2.50. Baklava, salad dressing, some tasty hot side dish, and a couple other things are gone! Also, if you get there right when it opens during lunch, they can be very slow getting items onto the buffet so you can eat. I have waited 30 minutes for some items to show. Pros: Quality food, bread and tea, atmosphere, music Cons: Raised prices for less food, slow opening for lunch more
