We are so lucky we were here!! Serendipty...we loved the privacy, your gardens, your gracious hospitality and the special suite. In fact, we were so happy here we hardly left, except to visit the Bellevue Botanical gardens after luncheon with Miss Claire. Then ur dinner/cooking class with Philippe Naud was so much fun...and so delicious. What a wonderful group we had, with people from all over. We congradulate you Nancy on creating a most special place in our world.\r Thank you for everything, we shall return , but in the interim, we will be certain to spread the word: L'Auberge is a true Getaway/Hideway!! (Who cares what's the weather?"" Robert and Carlina, Naples, Florida more

Never felt truly comfortable 11/21/2011

Stayed using a package that included a night in the ""Honeymoon Suite,"" a bottle of ""Vin Rousseaux"", and a massage. Added on the country breakfast (30 bucks a head). The good: quiet grounds, large room, large bath with jacuzzi and large shower (and bidet!). The OK: breakfast (overpriced and lacking advertised items); the wine (it was not Vin Rousseaux but a generic Spanish sparkling wine); the massage (conducted on a folding table in a spare bedroom with harsh lighting) . The bad: the room smelled of mothballs. Our hostess was a tad grumpy and acted put out by any request. The windows in the bath lacked shades or blinds above waist level which was creepy because of the public patio 15 feet away. more

Like staying with your favorite aunt! 5/20/2010

Quiet and secluded yet near many wineries 4/21/2010

What a delightful weekend we just spent at the Auberge! We were in Woodinville to taste wine during their Passport Weekend and to celebrate my husband's birthday. Nancy, the Auberge's owner upgraded us to the Chef's Apartment and provided beautiful desserts each evening as well as a basket of warm homemade pastries to go along with our self-catered breakfasts . The grounds are beautiful and the location felt secluded yet we were within minutes of Woodinville's many wineries and restaurants. Just a mention of Nancy and the Auberge to our waitress at the Barking Frog prompted a visit by chef Joshua to our table. Such gracious hospitality all weekend-long! We look forward to returning to participate in the cooking classes and to taste more wine. Pros: felt like we were staying the weekend with a friend Cons: only thing missing was a hot tub more

A romantic and business property alike 4/11/2010

On my visit to L`auberge, I was pleasently surprised to have been upgraded to the honeymoon suite without asking. Two shower head shower, jacuzzi tub, with gorgeous garden views. The owner Nancy greeted us with utmost charm and graciousness. This romantic property is one of a kind and absolutely charming. It truly is suitable for all occassions. The main house can easily accommodate events, such as; wine tastings, dinners, weddings, corporate think tank meetings and more. In the upscale hotel business, I am not easily impressed with upscale properties these days. L`auberge Edge Seattle did. I wish I could have stayed another night. My first call when back in Woodinville, will be Nancy at L`auberge. Pros: Perfect for couples 2 corporate retreats more

THE most romantic getaway in the Seattle area! 12/5/2008

The little woman and I truly enjoyed our romantic weekend at ?L'Auberge at The Edge of Seattle? in nearby Woodinville, Wa. Proprietress, Nancy Gates, greeted us at the expansive entryway. A charming woman who instantaneously set us at ease and welcomed us into her beautiful home. I was very impressed with the entryway and living room. Decorated with antique slot machines, original art and some of the most beautiful hand-woven Moroccan carpets I have seen. Nancy led us to the ?Honeymoon Suite? just down the heated tile hallway. The King-size bed looks out on the beautiful grounds and patio. The fireplace was ready for us with a supply of kindling and wood. A decanter of homemade wine was on the nightstand. The large spa bath was wonderful and appointed with candles, soaps, shampoo and cream rinses. The walk-in shower had two showerheads and all the hot water needed. We enjoyed magnificent homemade candy and cookies that were on the table in the sitting area before the bed. more

Best Bed and Breakfast and Cooking Class 8/4/2008

Since my wife and I had never stayed at a real bed and breakfast before we had no idea what to expect. Our hostess, Nancy Douglas, was very accommodating and helpful even though we had to arrive very late (11:00 pm) she said just to call when we were about an hour out and she would have the room ready for us with the door unlocked and to just check in in the morning. We did not know that the preparing of the room included warm homemade pastries, chilled sparkling wine and a beautifully appointed room. Since we are extremely early risers we did not avail ourselves of the breakfast available but I am sure it was amazing. We came for the French Crab Feast with Chef Adam Hoffman of Rovers Restaurant in Seattle. My wife uses a very apt word for our cooking/dining experience?awesome! The meal was spectacular in itself, but to have been a part of its creation was special indeed. Chef Hoffman allowed us to be as hands on as we wanted and guided us at every turn. We started with some of the most beautiful live locally caught crabs and ended with a meal to rival any restaurant anywhere at any price. Then there was the wine. Each person was asked to bring a bottle of his/her favorite wine (white in this case) to share with our small group, these were very special selections and were greatly enjoyed. All the while our hostess, Nancy, was there to make sure that we had the time of our lives. We plan to make this a favorite place to stay even if there is no class scheduled as the cost of the room is very comparable to that of a Marriott with so much more. If you plan to be in the Seattle area you can do no better than to stay at L?Auberge?.take the cooking class if it is available, you will not be disappointed. Jesse and Nancy Griffin, Walla Walla, WA Pros: Unexpected amenities, gracious hostess Cons: We live too far away to stay here every weekend more

Bed and Breakfast Inn 6/3/2008

On Memorial Day Weekend I had the fortune to travel North of Seattle and stay at L'Auberge Edge of Seattle, located at 16400 216 Avenue N.E. Woodinville, Washington 98077, (425) 260-6213, hosted by Nancy Douglas. The property is breathtaking, quiet with mocking birds singing amongst the needled trees. Pros: The atmosphere and the host Ms. Douglas Cons: Took me two phone calls to locate the property (but worth the calls!) more

Very Genuine Approach 11/15/2007

When my girlffriend told me she had booked us a weekend getaway to a B&B in Seattle I was very excited. Upon arrival at ""l'auberge"", we were greeted with such a warm welcome by the owner Nancy Douglas, She was very hospitable, and tended to our every need. We ate at the Herb Farm our first night, with both negative and positive reviews, the second night we enjoyed a lovely evening with about 5 other couples drinking wine, cooking and eating. The best way to a lot of peoples heart, including mine!! The accomodations were lovely, The scenery was picture perfect, very quiet and serene. The only question we found our selves asking was when are we going to return. Cons: Cheap headache bubbles more

My stay at the lovely L'Auberge 7/13/2007

Nancy Douglas, the proprietress was charming, gracious, a giver of great goodies every evening, and gourmet treats for the morning. In addition a chilled bottle of champagne greeted me on arrival. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, well appointed and private. I could not have asked for more. Nancy was warm and friendly yet very respectful of my space. I would return there in a nano-second---in fact plan to return another time. more

Lovely Get Away! Scrumptious gourmet baked treats, and a quiet setting makes it all click. 5/29/2007

We a lovely time we had at the L?AUBERGE at The EDGE OF SEATTLE. My sweetheart and I took The Embrace the first morning and danced a ?welcoming? tango on the rear patio. So lovely. Each morning we looked forward to the scrumptious gourmet baked treats that awaited us. Such fun. And in the morning of our last day at L'AUBERGE at The EDGE OF SEATTLE can you imagine this; as we took The Embrace to quietly dance a tango on the rear patio to ?say goodbye? we were greeted by a doe and her yearling tip toeing through the grass... blissfully enjoying themselves.... Perhaps the ideal metaphor for the time we had at L'AUBERGE at The EDGE OF SEATTLE. more

A hidden gem 4/18/2007

L'Auberge is a treasure. The hostess, Nancy, has created an environment that is very romantic and comfortable. Although it is not far from the city -- on the ""edge"" of Seattle -- the setting is very private and woodsy and has the feel of a French country inn. The decor is beautiful with much attention to detail, and Nancy is a marvelous hostess who makes you feel right at home and to top it off serves delicious homemade meals and goodies. It is a perfect getaway for anyone who wants relaxation, a taste of European hospitality, or some time away from it all with a special someone. Pros: Hospitality, decor, setting, food more

Perfection 10/31/2006

My girlfriend and I recently had the most amazing weekend here. Everything was perfect, from the ambiance of the Honeymoon Suite to the delicious gourmet breakfast served in the morning. We will never forget a single moment of the time we spent there and are looking forward to experiencing more romantic and relaxing weekends. I live in Philadelphia and my girlfriend lives in Seattle, so this was a very special way for us to spend our weekend together. We fell in love with each other all over again and will always remember L'Auberge. more

Get-Away to nature with luxury 9/5/2006

My wife and I recently decided to escape the Arizona summer heat for a few days. We were looking for some place cool, in a natural setting where we could enjoy the outdoors. Of course we wanted to be pampered and on top of everything else, we wanted it all at a reasonable cost. Two days before we were scheduled to go, we still had not found the ""ideal"" spot, when I saw the website for L'Auberge. The first hint of the wonderful weekend to come was Nancy's cheery voice as she took our reservation. The second was her anouncement that she would have the bubbly on ice for our arrival. more

Exceptional European style service and ambience in the Woodinville wine country 8/28/2006

My partner, C, and I have celebrated my Leo birthday for the past several years in the Woodinville wine country, and opted on this occasion for L'Auberge. Pros: everything Cons: A slight caveat: for the East Coast traveler, as is the case in most of the Pacific Northwest, no air conditioning; the Honeymoon Suite has a ceiling fan more

a slice of heaven 3/21/2006

amazing romantic view, great personal service, defenatly a must see more

And now we have three!! 3/17/2006

The accommodations were amazing. The place was romantic and secluded! It was perfect for a much needed romantic weekend. We loved it and guess what? We just found out we are pregnant and we conceived at L'auberge! It was such a wonderful surprise to find chocolates, sweet bread and chilled champagne waiting for us. In the morning breakfast was served by Nancy and was exquisite- it included to die for Fluffy Belgium waffles, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sweet breads and tons more. Nancy went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and the view was perfectly beautiful. Pros: Romantic!!, Serene, Cozy fireplace more

our special weekend 3/15/2006

we were looking for a hotel that we could could take a bath together and we found L'Auberge. It is very remote and on beautiful grounds. Also there is no tv or phone or anythng so we were able to concentrate totally on each other. It was just what we needed and we bonded and renewed our love for one another. The fireplace, food, champagne, and tub were phenomenal. We even came away with a wonderful souveneir that will arrive in October. I would go to L'Auberge over and over and Nancy was GREAT!! Thank you Pros: great price, huge room, secluded more
