I'm really not a fan of this place, but my mom insists on continuing to go here, so so does my dog. Last time we went to VCA we had to slam on the breaks at the parking lot entrance as a loose boxer dog ran out in front of our car onto 85th street in rush hour traffic. The dog had escaped under the vet's supervision. Fortunately, the dog was wrangled back in, but unfortunately the owner was not even informed of what had happened as we were there when they arrived. Also, the last time we boarded our elderly dog at VCA they completely forgot to give him his medication for an entire week. I'm truly surprised they were willing to admit that as that is not only inexcusable, but neglect and abuse. Overall bad experiences and overpriced. more

I will no longer go to Rose Hill Animal hospital 6/4/2009

I hadn't been back to Rose Hill for a few years and was very disappointed with my recent visit for my dogs eye injury.\r I didn't recognize any of the staff and the visit didn't feel welcoming or professional and was very expensive. I decided to do the follow up visit somewhere else and was so happy with Kenmore Veterinary Hospital. Dr. B and the staff at Kenmore Veterinary were so much kinder, more knowledgeable, much more thorough and less expensive. I highly recommend Kenmore Veterinary over Rose Hill Animal Hospital! more

DO NOT GO HERE! 5/21/2009

Please do not waste your time, animals health or money here!!! \r \r We recently took our Daschund to VCA Rose Hill Animal Hospital in Kirkland , WA . We took him there after about 10 hours of non-stop vomiting. The doctor spent maybe 45 seconds looking at our dog and gave him a shot for Cerenia, a drug used to reduce vomiting. This was beneficial for our dog to stop vomiting but gave us no understanding of what could have happened or if there was something else wrong. We explained our theories to the doctor, like our dog?s notorious habit of eating everything in sight, but this was all ignored. However, we assumed the doctor would have done further exams if necessary. They told us to allows a few days and if the problems persist to schedule another appointment. After continuous vomit, lethargy, and severe weight loss we decided we would return and be persistent with the doctor to run further tests. The vet took a few x-rays and did not see anything. This time they gave us a few opti more

Recommend VCA Rose Hill Animal Hospital 12/4/2008

I have had wonderful experiences at Rose Hill Animal Hospital. I have never experienced anything but kind and compassionate care from the qualified vets, assistants and front desk staff. They always know who I am when I walk in the door, greet my dogs/cats by name and are competent with the care that is required. I highly recommend them to my friends/family. They are undergoing a remodel job right now but it will only make it a better veterinary facility in the future. Thanks to all of you at Rose Hill. more

Bad news! 10/30/2008

My dog and I have been patients at this office for 5 years, and have recently had a very bad experience that should never have happened. After bringing in my dog for joint pain, Dr. Freiberg prescribed a medication that gave her a very strong adverse reaction. When I then called the next day to bring in my very sick dog, they answered no, they would not see her, she must go to the emergency vet, even when there was still two and a half hours of office time left in the day. She spent the weekend at the emergency vet with a bad gastric bleed. This would have never happened if all medical staff would have paid attention to the information in her chart. Their motto, "Your pet's health a top priority and excellent service is our goal." Could not be further from our experience. more

trouble 7/31/2008

We have seen dr. Freiberg for 3 years. Twice he has come to a conclusion that made him want to biopsy or preform surgery on our pet. The first time we saw a different vet and got a much better and realistic diagnosis. Our pet was fine without surgery, just antibotics. Afterwards he was confused, acting like that was not what he had said. Despite the fact that we had seen his records at the other vet. This time we again are consulting another vet. His conclusions are unfounded, costly, and never good. Recommend trying someone else. more

Competence with caring 6/27/2008

Rose Hill took care of my two dogs through their final months. One dog had a degenerative spinal disorder and the other, cancer. The staff clearly cared about the pups and took very good care of them. Dr. Frieberg doesn't excell in bedside manner, but we felt his veterinary skills were very good. Dr. Amanda was more personable but equally competent, we felt. They helped my husband and I and our precious pets through very difficult times, and we recommend them to our friends. Pros: Very helpful staff Cons: Can think of none more

Your Pet will be taken care of while at Rose Hill Animal Hospital 5/2/2008

Rose Hill Animal Hospital is one of the best animal hospitals I have brought my pets to. The front desk staff ALWAYS knows who I am and more importantly, WHO MAY PETS ARE. If I call for a doctor to call me or for a prescription request, I never have to worry about it being taken care of. They care like my animal is their own. My furry family members will be taken care of at Rose Hill and I never worry when I leave them there. I highly recommend them for your full service vet services and confidence that your pet will be taken care of. Pros: friendly staff, competent staff Cons: none more

Not Recommended 8/9/2007

The support staff/assistants are friendly; the vet (frieberg (sp?)) seems to have very minimal social skills and seems to be put off with too many questions. I've been there 3 times - once for a full vet visit and the other times for inoculations. The two non-vet visits he neither acknowledged me or my dog while putting his attention on the younger assistant behind the desk. I would expect some sort of acknowledgement or greeting. He also has a great card in his office (in plain view of the waiting area) stating something to the effect of "50 worse jobs." Very tacky. I personally view veteranarians still within the customer-service sector and think this guy may need to go back to a lab. He obviously doesn't enjoy nor take much pride in his job. more

Never again 3/19/2007

My usual vet was pretty sure my kitten had developed FIP. So a friend had referred me to Rose Hill for a 2nd opinion/additional information. The doctor was very odd, arrogant and almost rude. He just walked around the room and did nothing really. Looked in my cats eyes, listened to his heart and then based his diagnosis on what he thought was going on despite the history of the cat that i had told him. I even tried to make all previous tests available to him. He treated me like I was insulting him and wouldnt really even make eye contact. He kept saying "yep, he's a cat" "he's still a cat" That should of been my first inclination to run Shame on me for having hope to save a 5 month old kitten I guess. more

If you love your pet, don't take them here. 1/21/2007

My Schnauzer, Quincy has been a patient of this clinic for 13 years. Over that time he had to endure many costly and uncomfortable test and treatments, but the Doctors could never seem to find what was wrong or cure what was ailing my dog. From chronic ear infections, severe allergies, and most recently Camcer. All diognosis missed by Rose Hill and the staff. Every one. I had to challenge their findings each and everytime and get a second opinion which not only contriticted what Rose Hill was trying to tell me, but they were right every time. About 10 months ago. Quincy was not acting like himself. His ballance was off and would have a hard time just walking. Dr. Frieberg told he he would take some more test at over $180 and it would take 2 weeks to get the results. Again I went out for a second opinion. This time I also had my dogs medical records. After reviewing the records the other vet found my dog had a Thyroid issues and Immune system problem, which could be Cancer. I was in shock. How could this had been missed by Rose Hill? I allowed the vet to take another test to compare to the one I was still waiting for from Rose Hill. This was on a Friday. I was amazed the next day I received a call from the other vet with test results. One day. Not 2 weeks. The result of which was not good news. Quincy had Lymphomic Cancer and was 80% advanced making it untreatable. Once I did get the test results back from Rose Hill, again, they found nothing. I informed them that I wanted my permanent records transferd to my new vet. Aerowood Animal Hospital of Bellevue. Quincy was treated with great care and love there. They genuinely care for animals there at Aerowood. Quincy lost his battle with Cancer 2 days ago, I feel deep in my heart had I found Aerowood sooner, he would still be alive today. Do you and your pets a favor and run from Rose Hill as fast as you can. The life you save could be your dogs. more

Rude Customer Service 6/20/2006

I just hung up with one of the most rude receptionists I've run into in a long time! We have to head out of town on short notice for the weekend and need to board our two mini dachshunds. Our usual kennel is full so we called Rose Hill on the recommendation of a friend - what a mistake! I guess current clients may be treated ok but I'm not sure how you actually become a new client. I went through the third degree with this receptionist just to get her to understand that I had never boarded there before. She told me we had to bring the dogs in for a pre-exam before boarding. Understandable, but the dogs had just boarded at our vet two weeks prior and had shots and their one year check up. When I asked if I could forward their records I was told that they were not acceptable because our vet was not from one of their sister locations. When I asked if they could receive this check up during their stay I was told no. What a racket! I guess everyone's got to find a way to make a buck one way or another! How disappointing! more

We take our dog in everyday while we're at work and he absolutely loves it! He's been going since he was just a few months old and they have always been so good to him - he gets so excited when we get there, he scratches at the door to get in. The few times he's had to go in for services, they took great care of him. While he's there during the day, they take him for walks and let him play outside several times a day and its much more reasonable than other places we'd looked into. And the people there are great! I would (and do) recommend it to anyone! Pros: Staff, Inexpensive Cons: close early on friday more

They LOVE animals... 4/16/2006

My dog cannot WAIT to go to the vet now that he goes to Rose Hill. They know each animal and each owner in depth. They take such good care of the animals whether it is for a doctor visit or boarding. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The staff is so sweet and caring, I trust them completely with my animals. The pricing is just a bit more than most but the office hrs cannot be beat! They are open from 7am-9pm which is perfect for a working person such as myself. more

Mean and condescending receptionist 4/13/2006

I took my dog for a checkup and preventative medication. Doctor was late, receptionist was really mean and condescending. The medicene was overpriced; and so was the visit. After my medication ran out, I researched and found a good online supplier. They had great consumer reviews and even some vets recommended them. The office would not verify the prescription and said I had to take my dog for another expensive visit and tests he did not need! They only want your money and don't care about you or your pet. Pros: nothing Cons: mean receptionist, condescending staff, way overpriced more

The staff at Rose Hill is very nice. They took good care of my dog and the doctor was very helpful. I have had to go back since then and they remembered my pet's name and greeted him at the door. The prices are what I would expect for the service I was provided. I recommend this hospital to my family and friends!!! Pros: Friendly staff, Doctors, Good hours Cons: Smaller lobby, Parking lot more

Expensive, unnecessary treatment and poor service 9/14/2005

The vet I had ran very expensive tests on my cat before having an "ah-ha" moment and prescribing a simple medication that seemed to do the trick. Not once in four visits did I see or meet the doctor. She acted too busy for me. Plus, the bills were the most expensive I've ever seen from a vet. more
