I recently lost or had stolen my grandmothers ring I wore as my wedding ring. On an impulse, I stopped by Arlington Gold and Diamond to see what kind of place it was and if they carried old cut/antique diamonds like the one I lost. Immediately upon entering I was greeted by Peter, Fawzy (I think I am spelling this correctly...nonetheless, the patriarch of the business) and his daughter. I had my 20 month old little girl with me and she flirted and ran around the store while I looked. They didn't even bat an eye at my toddler playing in the store. This place is a family business and not at all stuffy. \r The employees were kind and SO accomodating to every question I had. And I asked difficult questions that, normally, would bruise the ego of most jewelers. They were open, honest and saw it as an opportunity to talk ""shop."" They love what they do obviously. \r The service was impeccable. I bought an antique ring (it was a dream of a ring for an amazing price), they reshanked it, checked the prongs and had a little device that prevents rolling (this was a huge rock ;) ) In two days. He did an amazing job! There were other little gifts and details that just made me feel important. To a Mom, who takes care of everyone else, it was nice.\r I will shop there, have my jewelry serviced there and recommend them fully and without reservation. I always shy away from custom because, in the past, my expectations have not always been the same as the designer (um...I had much higher). I have a sharp eye and see the details. AGASE didn't disappoint! Not only did they happen to have one of the most rare cuts of antique diamonds, Fawzy generously let me purchase the entire parcel to make my dream band. They could have made more money by splitting it, but they truly get enjoyment out of creating lasting and loyal relationships with their customers. Back to the band...The workmanship of the engraving, the delicacy and perfection of the milgraining is exquisite. I would confidently compare this with some major names that reside in New York and LA. The only difference was that I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it.\r I can't gush enough about the people that work here. I hope you go see for yourself. They will not disappoint. more

After reading the great reviews about them (albeit the reviews were a little old) I was really surprised at my service at this location today. The person attending me was unfriendly, insulting and told me that some of my diamonds were cubic zirconia. (It was a necklace and earrings set, he said the necklace contained diamonds but not the earrings.) I said I found that strange since it had been purchased by my grandmother from a jewelry store as a set. (But I had no proof they were diamonds.) He then commented that maybe they *were* diamonds but it was hard to tell because they were really dirty. I chose not to sell my jewelry there solely based on my experience with him. more

We went to buy and were not disappointed!! The people there are amazing. It is a family owned business and we were treated like part of the family. When I displayed my interest (and lack of knowledge), Peter gave me a short course on precious metals and economics. We laughed and joked and I walked out knowing much more than I did before. Arlington Gold, Silver & Diamond Exchange is a great place to do business. I took some unwanted jewelry there and not only did they give me more than every other place even thought of offering, they gave it to me with good service, very friendly employees & good humor also. Will definitely do business with them again when we upgrade wedding rings! There jewelry pieces are amazing and priced so affordably...it is well worth the trip to Bowen and Pioneer Parkway to do business with these folks. more

I recently sold some old jewelery and even though I had anticipated leaving dissatisfied, the return I received was surprisingly good! Not to mention that the staff was friendly and quick. I would definitely recommend using this place if you are looking to trade gold/silver for some extra cash, or if you were looking to buy too! They have a very large selection. more

After my personal jeweler closed due to economy, I was at a loss as to whom to trust with fine jewelry. A lot of the "big" jewelers don't repair in house which could take weeks, never mind the risk of loss.\r \r Referred to Arlington Gold & Silver by a trusted friend and \r was pleased to find out they did repairs on premises, at an extremely reasonable price. After getting an offer of only $420 by another ""exchange"" type jewelry place on Matlock Rd., I took my scrap gold to Arlington Gold, Silver & Diamond Exchange. They were *much* quicker at analyzing what I had to sell and making the offer, further, they offered me $165 more than the other place. Will definitely do business with them again. Went to two other Diamond Exchanges(Euless & Dallas), I wish I hadn't wasted my time. Arlington Gold & Silver in Arlington paid me over 50% more than the other two places offered. They earned my business from now on. Pros: Everyone freindly and they pay high. Cons: None--nice place more

These people told me on the telephone that they paid $16 per gram for 14k but then offered $10 when I arrived at the store. They then claimed that my 14k gold was only 10k and tried to offer even less. When I said thank you and started to walk out, they told me they were doing me a favor and nobody else would give me as much. I took it to a jewelry store where it tested positive for 14k and they paid me $15 per gram. Pros: None known Cons: Questionable Ethics more

My fiance & I just purchased my engagement ring last Saturday (9/06/08). Gary, Fred & Peter helped me find the perfect antique engagement ring! Even though they were very busy that day, they were friendly, took as much time with me as I needed & ultimately designed the most beautiful engagement ring I've ever seen!
