went in for oil change on sat and that went fine ,when went to pay cashier was highly offensive about the way she was dressed ,had a shirt that showed her middrift and a back tatt...

Howard the owner is very rude... 4/10/2012

I own an 11 year old car that has done very well by me through these years. As with any 11 year old car, recently there have been a rash of issues come up. This garage is only 2 blocks away from my apartment and seemed to be a good place to frequent... until last week. The most recent problem has been one of my cylinders misfiring on the highway. I brought my car into this KK 2 different times after she acted up in this manner. Both times they ""couldn't get it to act up"" after I left. After spending upwards to 5K in this establishment over the course of 2 years, I was told by the owner (Howard McGinnis) in a very angered manner, ""It is a waste of mine and my employee's time and effort to keep working on your car."". This was also after they had ""lost"" the plastic cover to my engine which they ""found"" once I told Howard they would not have to put up with my car or my business anymore and I was thinking about contacting the BBB and possibly the authorities in regards to the missing engine cover. Long story short, Howard McGinnis needs a lesson in customer service and his staff needs to stop ""losing"" parts to the cars they work on. more

Very poor customer service & extra charges w/o authorization 2/11/2012

After dropping off my car for an oil change before noon, I finally called to check if it was finished at 4:00. They said that they had the wrong phone number for me and ""had tried to call."" When given my receipt, I saw that they had the correct # and hadn't called. I also noticed that the charge was $30 more than agreed upon. Upon asking the man checking me out, he told me that my car required .8 gal more than the ""normal"" oil change and a special filter that just so happened to cost $20 more. He told me that the mechanics don't know off the top of their head if these ""special"" options will be needed... They did however remember that my manufacturer suggests the more expensive senthetic oil, and he remembered to tell me that... Without contacting me with the correct phone number and email address they had on file, they did this change and charged me extra without authorization. They were very rude and did not seem to care about the extra charges when I questioned them and their failure to contact me. I will not be returning. more

Extremely Rude, Mislead, Over charged 10/3/2011

Very rude and insulting owner! We had my daughters oil changed in our town but because it was Royal Purple it can only be done at certain places. Wish I had know this before starting this type of oil. The first change is expensive but the next change is only $15, to top it off and change the filter. My daughter is a college student in Dallas and needed an oil change before coming home. She called around to find someone that used Royal Purple and could just top off her oil and change the filter. This place said they could do it for $12-$15. When she got there she specifically told them she only needed a top off of Royal Purple and oil filter change. When she got to the register the bill was $76.90. She has never done this before and was in shock concerning the price but paid it. When she returned home in a few weeks she gave me the bill and I was livid. They took advantage of a young girl who obviously doesn't know anything about cars. I called and spoke with the owner, Howard McGinnis and he was very insulting and rude. Not offering in any way to help take care of this problem. He insulted our raising of her because we had not prepared her to confront this issue on her own. Very very rude man. He obviously doesn't care about his customers first by not offering to compensate for this overcharge but also by insulting and being extremely rude to his customer. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS KWIK KAR AGAIN!!! I urge you not to do business with this unprofessional arrogant rude owner. He is definitely only in this for his profit not for the customer. more

Great Service 11/21/2009

The friendly staff takes the time to explain the problems my vehicle was having and how best to go about fixing the them. They are also concerned with the cost associated with fixing the problems and offered suggestions to limit the expense even if it meant losing work for themselves. They put the customer first! Pros: honest, looks out for the customers best interest more

Thanks for the Great Service 2/13/2009

I was on Fitzhugh when my power went out. Turns out the water pump was leaking (which has something to do with the power steering--go figure). They knew it was a urgent situation and instead of trying to sell me a water pump and have me leave the car there stranded. They added water to the system, did what they could to slow the leak, and gave me directions to the nearest dealership, for FREE. Thanks, I really appiciate the time and effort you took to help me!\r \r I feel sorry for the individual complaining about a low cut shirt on the cashier. Life must be tough for you in the summer time in Dallas. more

excellent service and honest hard workers 1/18/2009

I'm shocked at the earlier review of this Fitzhugh location... I have been coming to this Kwik Kar for many years now, and have never seen the woman in question... I have always been treated with respect. I have never seen anyone in the station not in a clean uniform, and they guys are all unfailingly polite! I completely trust these people with each of our three cars. more
