Pretty Tasty 4/28/2008

We walked in felt like we walked into a bit of ""country"". It was nice being in the city and all. My son and I got the rib dinner. I could tell when the guy was cutting the ribs that they were sure to be tender. Our mouths were already watering. He then told us to help ourselves to the vegetables (as much as we wanted). It was quite good. The barbeque sauce was pretty delicious too! We're from Memphis too and we have some pretty good barbeque restaurants. I am glad we found this one. My daughter who is the ""picky"" one in the group didn't want anything at first, but then she decided on the ""half chicken"". She gobbled it up and a couple of plates of macaroni and cheese, 2 of the DELICIOUS rolls and a slice of peanutbutter/chocolate pie. But, if you don't like meat, then don't go to a barbeque restaurant! Pros: Yummy tender tasty barbeque and ROLLS! Cons: too full for dessert more

Happy Happy 3/5/2008

I came here for business from Nashville and was craving some good Texas BBQ. I though all was lost being out in the burbs without a car. I found this joint and knew I was in for a treat when I saw it was a cafeteria style no-nonsense place with a small menu and the first thing I walked past was a 30 foot smoker. Now I don't have any basis for comparison with regard to other Texas BBQ joints nearby but suffice it to say I was in happy land after eating here. The brisket was tender, and flavorful. The sausage was juicy and delicious. The sides were fantastic southern favorites. Not sure what the other reviewers gripe was with the rolls but I enjoyed the large buttery roll, of which you get as many as you want. I would like to see what the other reviewer thinks is a better BBQ joint because if the local brisket gets better than this I'm going to have to rent a car the next time I am down here. TN may own the hog when it comes to BBQ but Texas clearly owns the cow. Thumbs up. Pros: Good BBQ Cons: Small menu if you have picky eaters with you more
