We have been regulars at the chop house since it opened. It NEVER lets us down. We have tried others and always go back to the Chop House. Simply the Best in EVERYTHING

Rude Management 11/9/2008

I called this restaurant because the company I work for is raising money for Christmas for a local charity that houses children, who for whatever reason are unable to stay in their own home. I was rudely informed that they already give to 60 charities, which is great. And what I was doing would be like him calling my company and asking for something free. I have only ate at this restaurant once, which by the way, the food was not all that and way to highly priced. It was something I could have whipped up in the comfort of my own home. I was just really put off and won't ever go to that restaurant again!!! more

below average food, bad atmosphere 5/18/2008

As with every restaurant, the service greatly depends on who serves you. The service was what I expected, nothing special, but nothing wrong with it. The food however, was not what I expected. For starters, where I come from most restaurants that style themselves as chop houses are usually in the class of fine dining. This is not so with Franklin Chop House. The floors aren't even finished, just painted concrete, the decor is nothing resembling fine dining. The prices are a little bit higher than expected for a place with concrete floors, although nothing to complain about. The food isn?t terrible, the taste is just above home cooking. What I mean by this is if I bought a steak, took it out of the package, and threw it on the grill with no prior cooking experience. There is no evident seasoning that is used, maybe butter, or olive oil. This, along with the atmosphere, creates an experience that I could have for under eight dollars at home in my garage. In my opinion, don?t waste your time here unless you are in to trying every restaurant in the area just to see what it is like. Truly a disappointment. Pros: sadly to say, none that I can think of Cons: low quality food for the price, does not compare to other steak houses in its price range, bad atmosphere more

Nothing to write home about.... 2/9/2008

We went here on a Saturday afternoon so we were seated fairly quickly. Nice atmosphere and very clean. Friendly service, fast service. However.......my husband received his steak very rare (I think his exact words were ""This would be nice if I had ordered sushi"") the waiter was really nice about it and apologetic. I heard the people behind us complaining about how rare their steak was as well. Maybe the cook was having an off night or maybe the grill wasn't hot enough? Anyways, My food was ok but the ""garlic bread"" was basically plain white bread, toasted, cut in half with butter and garlic powder on it. My stomach has been bothering me all night. We left a great tip because the waiter was really nice though. When we left, we decided this was nothing to rave about......it was like any applebee's or chili's. Pros: cheap, fast, friendly Cons: undercooked, average food more

Go To Outback 1/14/2008

I ordered a drink, a salad and a steak. I was about two sips into my drink when they brought my salad. I hurried my drink and got about one bite of my salad before they brought my steak. They seem to have no concept of the idea of ""timing"". When asked if my steak was cooked correctly, I was hard-pressed to give an answer, considering it was only about half-an-inch thick! And this was their ribeye! The hotel desk clerk who recommended this place said she prefers it to Outback. When I got back to the hotel, I asked her if she has eaten in very many Outbacks. If you want a quck ""fast-food"" steak, this is the place to go. Pros: Good service, good prices. Cons: They don't know how to separate courses and the steaks are too thin to cook properly. more

Simply the Best 3/18/2003

Franklin Chop House is one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat. I think I am almost a regular because of the friendly service, great food...esp. the salads and cobblers! An absolute 10. They also have an awesome upperclass sister, Granite Falls, in Nashville! If you haven't been to Chop House, your missing out! Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly Service, Affordable Cons: Crowded Parking more

Great Value & Food 5/28/2002

Love the Franklin Chop House. I eat at their other restaurant in Nashville Granite Falls and always seem to get the same friendly attention at both restaurants. The Chop House is one of my families favorites, the food is consistently good and priced very fairly. Great Children's menu for the price and selection.. Pros: Prices, Food Quality, Location Cons: Long wait sometimes more
