So sweet and thoughtful 3/22/2012

I just went to a friend's dad's funeral at Brockington Funeral Home. I was absolutely blown away with the service I experienced at this firm. I went to the visitation and witnessed the sweetest thing: Aaron, the owner and head undertaker, was coloring and drawing with the granddaughter of the deceased. He got her crayons and paper and drew with her for an hour while her parents saw the people. I mean, the head man doing this... Wow. The next day, Aaron gave me and my friends a tour of the whole home, which was so gorgeous. Aaron knew so much funeral history and loved taking the time to talk to us. There is a phrase that sums this up well: ""You can measure how nice somebody really is on the inside by the way they treat those who they don't know"". Aaron didn't know me before that day, yet he was super kind, thoughtful, and sooo friendly. He had nothing to gain from me, yet he treated me and my friends like kings. I have since talked to my Dad, and we know without a doubt who our undertaker will be when that faithful day comes.... To sum it all up, I just was deeply moved by Aaron Brockington and his treatment of my friend and his family. I feel Brockington's is the best: service, care, and friendliness - it's all there with them. more

Coming back home 8/25/2010

I have been away from my hometown for a while, but just went back for a friends funeal. Brockington Funeral Home was just as I remember it as a kid. If felt like I was going back home. Their now in the third generation! I can remember when Sam was Aaron's age! OMG, I'm getting old! The funeral homes where I live are o.k. and all, but nobody does it like Brockington. I done told my children ""Dont carry my body anywhere but Brockington's, or I'll come back and haunt you!!!"" more

Coolest Undertaker 8/25/2010

I know its wierd to say a funeral director is ""cool"", but the mortician at Brockington's Funeral Home is! He has an awsome '67 Cadillac Fleetwood and an hearse to match it, both in mint condition. When my Daddy passed, I asked Aaron if I could use the vintage cars on the funeral. My Dad was a car man if there ever was one! He loved the sixties cars and got married and had me in 1967! So, it was so fitting when Aaron drove us in the Fleetwood and gave my Daddy his ""last ride"" in that neat vintage hearse! The Brockingtons made this funeral personal and special to me. No other funeral home could have ever even come close. more

I was truly taken care of. 7/25/2008

I don't ever feel like I am taken care of when I go to do business at most places. I don't feel welcomed in them. Ship you in, rush you out. No time for talk. I mean even in nice places like doctor's offices, lawyers, my accountants. They are nice and polite and all, but just don't really seem to care about me. I was so skeptical about most businesses. Well, Brockington Funeral Home has blown me away... The three generations all work there together. To have a grandfather, father, and son who all want to just take care of your every need is so impressive and COMFORTING. I mean, where can you go these days where somebody even knows you, or cares about how you feel, or where can you go these days and have the owners directly taking care of you. With Brockington Funeal Home, you deal with the people in charge. AND, three generations of them. I mean, this is unheard of , yet so very comforting . The three Brockingtons felt like family. Heck, they are literally a family taking care of me and my family. How nice! The building is so comforting, too. Many funeal homes forget that last word in their name- ""home"". Many are nice, but cold, uninviting, or don't even look like a home. Well, Brockington Funeral Home is very much a true home. It was built in 1920 as a bueatiful brick house. All original moldings, fixtures, antique furniture, -the works. I felt at-ease. It was warm, and inviting, and it just felt right. So, here's the thing: trust Brockington. They have it together. There may be other funearal homes, and they may be fine, but Brockington set the bar. And they set it high. Use Brockington and see things you don't see every day. Long-time trusted name. A warm and inviting place. Meeting directly with the owners. Family owned and operated by three generations. When its all over and done with, you will feel truly ""taken care of"". Pros: Three generartions. Family owned and operated. Long-time trusted reputation. Cons: They were insignifigant... more
