Dr. Tamura is AMAZING! 3/26/2012

I have been a patient at Physicans for Women for approximately 15 years; my primary doctor is Rose Tamura, but I have seen various doctors within the practice. I have moved from the area and now live in NYC and still travel to see these doctors. Although I love Dr. Tamura, I do agree with others comments regarding the demeanor of the billing staff and long wait times to speak with anyone on the phone. I was considering changing offices, however I had an abnormal PAP, which lead to a biopsy and then a LEEP procedure; with all of that going on, I decided it was best to stay with the practice and hold off on changing. Since I had to have frequent check-ups, I saw various doctors, which were all pleasant with the exception of Dr. Paranyuk, who told me after one of my exams, "See what happens when you behave". I have never had an STD or issue and to hear a doctor say that, I was disgusted. Now I am willing to see other doctors with the exception of Dr. P. more

Unprofessional Coordinating Staff 1/28/2011

Very unprofessional billing and scheduling staff. Was nothing short of harrassing for payment while waiting for insurance compay to kick in. I will not be returning, Unfortunately the Dr.'s never get the information that the staff is not patient friendly. more

Dr Gillotti 11/12/2010

Dr Gillotti has been my physician for more than ten years, never had a complaint till I had a problem and needed to speak to her. I might as well have asked to speak to the Pope. I am reassessing whether I will continue with this group. more

all doctors not equal 7/24/2010

Dr. Z displayed insensitive bedside manner when I had my 2nd child and went into post partum depression he told me to "get over it". I vowed NEVER to see him again so I see Dr. Tamura and love her, same group. Now I need a menapause expert in this group. I also saw Dr. Gilotti and she was great, too. Yes the office is almost like disney land way too busy, factory like. But all practices are like that now. more

Dr.Steven Zamore 3/24/2010

He has a excellent bedside manner to him which makes you less nervous going for your yearly exam.He was right by my side when I had a c-section with my youngest daughter who is now 14 years old.I recently made a first time appt.for my oldest daughter to see Dr.Zamore .I would not want any other doctor to take on the care of my daughter. more

Poor, Impolite Billing Department 8/16/2009

After a year with the office, although I was very happy with Dr. Paranyuk, I will not be going back because I am so disgusted with the utter lack of communication between the doctor's office and central billing office regarding patient financial issues. I am a student and wanted the HPV series but couldn't afford to pay for it all out of pocket. I asked the doctor's office to check my coverage and they told me I was covered 80%. So I got two vaccinations and paid $50 for each. My insurance company ended up denying the claim for the shots after all, but I didn't find out until I got a bill from the central billing office for the full price of the first vaccination, which was over $150. I called the billing office to ask about it and the associate I spoke to on the phone was incredibly impolite. She was rude enough to tell me that it was my job to check my coverage, so that I wasn't covered was my problem. Needless to say, I hung up on her. After speaking with the doctor's office and working with them, I am receiving some reimbursement; instead of owing over $300 for the first two vaccinations I have already received, I'll owe just over $100. However, I have received two very threatening letters from the central billing office -- one of which came AFTER I called the doctor's office to make sure they had been in touch with the central billing office about the resolution to my issue, and they told me yes -- which tell me that they will be getting their lawyer after me if I don't pay the incorrect balance of over $300. From start to finish, this ordeal has been stressful and acrobatic. I have made so many phone calls and spent so much time working on this to try to owe as little as possible, and in the end I have two of three HPV shots and am trying to figure out a way to get the third affordably. Once I have this third vaccination I will never be speaking to or seeing anyone in that office again. more

Factory-like service, too busy for personal service 1/10/2007

I had my first child with Physicians for Women and am now pregnant with my second. While my doctor, Dr. Gilotti, is wonderful, unfortunately, the office itself is so busy there are long hold times to speak to anyone, as a working mom appointments in the morning, evening or weekends are very difficult to get, nurses take all day to return a call regarding a simple question and you cannot speak to a doctor regarding a problem unless your problem is deemed an emergency. I finally got sick of the frustrating, impersonal treatment by the office staff and nurses and left in the middle of my second pregnancy. I just think that my doctor's office should be available to address my valid concerns (about pain, fatigue, etc.) even if they are not emergencies. more

VERY GOOD GROUP 8/28/2005

I CAME TO THIS GROUP IN 2001 WHEN I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT WITH MY 1ST CHILD. THEY HAVE NOW DELIVERED 2 CHILDREN FOR ME AND I HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR CARE. OF COURSE MY OB/GYN WAS NOT THERE FOR EITHER BIRTH ( YOU KNOW-IT'S THAT MURPHYS LAW THING) BUT I WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET ALL THE DOCTORS IN THE GROUP BEFORE I GAVE BIRTH SO IT WAS NOT SO SCARY. I HAD AN EMERGENCY C-SECTION BOTH TIMES AND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR CARE AFTERWARDS. I WAS SO HAPPY IN FACT THAT I HAVE STAYED WITH THEM. more

They are the best! 7/27/2005

Dr. Montesano and the rest of the "Physicians For Women" staff both doctors etc., are top shelf. They have a mammography center in the lower level of the building as well. So it's one stop shopping. If there is an emergency they are right on top of it. The always-return calls promptly unlike many doctor's offices. There has never been a problem with the fact I am a long distance patient having to drive an hour to see them. They have no problem coordinating care with both other Connecticut and Massachusetts hospitals, physicians etc. more

Good care for women 7/6/2005

I moved to Danbury when I was 6 mnts pregnant and this group practise accepted me as their patient with no problem. The doctors are great and very understanding. They are about 6 doctors in the practise.. so there is always someone available in case of an emergency. The nurses do a good job too. I would higly recommend this Ob/gyn to anyone. more
