Best

I went to BB the first time last year while visiting the area, then again this summer (2006), and it's still the best alehouse around, I think! They don't call their beer sampler...

Beer - YES, Food/Service - NO 8/14/2008

They brew the best beer - period. They get a 5 for that. But I usually get it elsewhere, because the service in the restaurant is awful - while the food is mediocre. I really want to love this place...because of the IPA, Scotch Ale, etc. We have been there several times over the years (and I know it is always packed), the service in the restaurant has always been terrible. Slow I can handle, rude I cannot. But definately find someplace to try their ales. more

They don't like brown people 7/12/2006

If you like people who discriminate against who they serve this is the place for you. Lets just say a few friends and I went in and ordered drinks and lunch, 40 minutes after our order the waitress came back to tell us that there was no pizza crust, when clearly there was because 4 pizzas came out for people who had ordered about 15-20 minutes after us. When asked about this, she said that there was nothing she can do. What restaurant do you know that cares about their customers tell you there is nothing they can do. When we asked for the check, nothing was said about our other 4-5 dishes being cooked (being that some of them were appetizers). Even when we were seated there was a bad vibe, but I never thought it would be this apparent that they didn't want our business. more

Boundary Bay--still out to "SAVE the ALES" 6/15/2006

I went to BB the first time last year while visiting the area, then again this summer (2006), and it's still the best alehouse around, I think! They don't call their beer sampler a "flight" as in some other places I've been, but it's still the best way to get a decent sampling of all of their fine brews, which I will be missing very much until the next time I'm there! The food is also top-line, creative menu and plentiful, and the new beer garden looks to be a most promising summer hangout. Go there! more

I'm sorry, did you say BEER 12/16/2005

WOW. Went to Boundary Bay for the first time a couple weeks ago, it was impressive. Over 20 beers on their menu, including the beers they brew on premesis. Microbrews, Stouts, Lagers, Pale Ales, what's your flavor? I bet they have it. And let's not forget the menu. Lamb burger! Caesar Salad w/ a very garlickey dressing. Salmon Chowder, Burrito, to name a few. It was startling to see that kind of menu in a bar (essentially). Prices? Not too bad, especially considering the variety of beers and the quality of the food. You can get two dinners and four beers for under $45. more

Yummy!! 9/19/2005

This is one of my favorite restaurants around. They have micro brews brewed on site, they have delicious food, a garden and outside seating, some summer nights they even have a live band and dancing in the garden! Very fun! Inside is decorated with local artists work for sale, and the bar has local items such as a kayak, and a sail hanging from the ceiling. In the summer they sometimes open the garagelike door for summer sun and heat! The menu changes from time to time, and there are always nightly specials and a couple of daily pizza choices. My favorites include the BBQ chicken quesidilas and the Thai Wrap, though I've never had something that wasn't good. The caesar salad is to DIE for!! You won't be disappointed! more

Unique Food, good beer 8/17/2005

Microbrews and good food. This place is an open bar/restaurant with a fun atmosphere. It can get louder the later you go. It gets crowded on weekends so get there early. If you like a different variety of beers, this is a good place to go. The only downside is that if you have too much to drink and get a ride home, you stand the chance of having your car towed as the Farmer's Market is in its parking lot on Saturday's. Towed cars are very common. Don't drink and drive, but park along a side street to be safe. more

Love the outside garden 7/5/2005

If you're new to town -- Boundary Bay is a great local place to get good food and very good beer and meet some of the locals. VERY friendly people work here and there's an outside beer garden in summer with music most nights. If you're new to town, definitely give it a try! more
