Very good Thai food! King of Thai! 5/28/2006

This is an awesome Thai restaurant. There are many Thai restaurants around, but this one clears the table. There really isn't much to compare with. Most Thai restaurants for pathathic attempts to compare. more

Authentic Thai in Pasadena 4/16/2006

Saladang with its funky interior is one of my favorite Thai places in LA. Great service and great presentation make you want to go back here often. Even some of my friends who are not great fans of Thai food have loved this place. The yellow curry rice is great. The waiters are pretty and friendly. Usually crowded on weekends. Portions are large and the price is reasonable. Must try for Thai food lovers. more

The best Thai food in the US. Great atmosphere, wonderful service. Wonderful decor and buildings (both restaurants) more

great thai 9/26/2005

I love Saladang because of its traditional ambience. The food is definitely good, and the prices affordable. I've been there a few times for the lunch specials, though any time is a good time for Thai soup, pad thai or pad seew pan fried noodles, thai iced tea, curry... basically everything here is good. Banquets or large parties also work well at Saladang. Service is fairly quick, and employees are very friendly. more

classy thai 9/25/2005

A dinner at Saladang Song is best enjoyed out on the patio with a cool wind and warm heat lamps. This restaurant is definitely more higher-end, with extremely well-prepared and presentable dishes ranging from the traditional, ever-so-popular curries and pad thai to more traditional Thai dishes. Saladang Song is a great place for dates because of its classy, romantic atmosphere. more

One of the best restaurants on the west coast 8/30/2005

This is not your parents' Thai restaurant. Although if they're dedicated foodies, they'll show up. This is simply one of the best and most unique Thai restaurants you will ever find. The beautiful and award winning building design resonates with the perfect presentation of every dish. As delicately balanced for the palette as the eye, Song's offerings are lighter, hipper and ever so slightly more interesting than those of it's sister resaurant next door. You can make a meal by sampling fun appetizers, sharing lush curries or by ordering an individual dinner. Don't forget about dessert! The offerings are varied, unusual and distinct. The selection of sweet root vegetables with crushed ice and coconut cream is a particular favorite. more

The Best Thai in a great place! 8/11/2005

From the minute you walk in, this is a great place! BIg industrial feeling place, high ceilings, exposed ducting painted purple, pinlights that come down from the ceiling, unusual art on the walls, orchid arrangements here and there. It's casual and comfortable. The food is fabulous! Try the yellow curry, pad thai, eggplant, their spicy fried rice, the chicken sate, sizzling beef, green curry, etc. It's all great! Saladong Song which is next door isn't nearly as good for some reason. But the original restaurant just can't be beat! more

Awsome, unique Thai food 6/28/2005

Excellent, excellent food! Romantic atmosphere - great place to take a date. I especially like the spicy poo-goong tom ga-ti (crab, shrimp, ginger, onion and chili in coconut milk). Not like the average Thai restaurant - innovative & modern. Delicious! more

yummy thai 4/29/2005

this is one of the best thai restaurants in the area. it is very popular so be sure to get there ahead of time on the weekend. they have all the traditional thai dishes, but with a little twist. for example, the egg in the pad thai envelopes the noodles like an omlette. this is one of their best dishes. the beef salad is also a best-seller. the rest of the noodle dishes are pretty standard. you can pick your meat, vegetable, and have it cooked in your favorite style. you get a lot for what you pay for (average plate is around $7), so order family style so you can get a taste of everything. be sure to try the desserts too! more
