Sellers don't bother 7/28/2010

I read the reviews but attempted to sell some items and check out this location. Waste of my time. Doesn't matter the quality or brand name if it isn't hipster they don't want it. I'm shocked, I had numerous items of quality including 2 brand new Armani items with tags that they refused. Apparently if it isn't faded and looks like it came out of your granny's closet, they don't want. Save the time and energy, go elsewhere. Cons: Narrow minded more

Needs to be more openminded when buying merchandise 5/24/2010

Clothes! 1/21/2010

I'm glad that there's a BuffEx up the street from me. Selection is good, but since it's smaller than Hawthorne, yadda yadda. One person was a little offputting, but it's bound to happen in this town. Everyone else for the most part is friendly. The men's dressing rooms are not substantial, unlike the women's. To the girl accusing BE of being racist, maybe you shouldn't bring in generic mall clothes next time. Pros: I can walk from home, selection Cons: Cramped, crowded, and smaller than Hawthorne more

fun place to shot 3/20/2009

i always find something special here and for a low price. it's a great place for retail therapy!! i can find some really unique items here. sometimes i feel like they look at me before even looking at the clothes i'm going to resell. i guess it's like a job interview-dress to impress they are your client at that point they are shopping from you..but, i still don't really like that aspect of it. Pros: more diverse selection than a typical store Cons: they rarely buy my clothes when reselling more

I always find something at this Buffalo Exchange 6/12/2008

Though not as heraled as the Buffalo on Hawhthorne, this downtown location seems more dependable to me. I always have good luck both buying and even selling used clothes there. Not super into the new clothes they have for women, but some of the new items for men are nice. Great purses and scarves as well, also hip shoes (like boots and flats) in many many sizes. Jewelry selection is sort of cheesy but if you are into costume jewelry and fake gold, this could be your thing. Employees are nice and not intimidating or too hip to talk to you. Pros: Huge selection, good quality items Cons: Cramped, always busy store more

The best store in Portland. 7/9/2007

I first discovered this glorious clothing and accessory store a few years back on a romp through the downtown area. Now,I've been to a few cute stores before, and I love them dearly, but I have to say that Buffalo Exchange on Burnside is my absolute top pick. Pros: Great clothes, great prices, good service. Cons: not close enough to my house!! more

Not worth it! 4/11/2007

This place would be great if they replaced the IGNORANT staff. They seem to stiff anyone that doesnt have white skin. Maybe they should hire someone ethnic to add some sense and flare to this place! Other than looking like 80's grunge/punk groupies, the staff doesnt have a clue. I brought in a bag of mostly brand new items from places like Banana Republic and Gap, most still had the tags on them but of course since I am not the same skin color as them, they didnt take a single item. Thanks but no thanks. Better selection, service and value across the street at Red Light. more

preventing me from running around unclad 9/11/2006

Buffalo functions as my closet. I'll run in if there's something I need, and I'll take clothes I'm no longer wearing there. Everything is well priced, great condition, organized--and it's rare that I leave empty-handed. Fun stuff, well made, seasonal...and they support others in need. Pros: incredibly friendly, responsive staff more

Good, but not for everyone.... 10/15/2005

The indier-than-thou staff can leave you a little cold, and the racks are filled with their visions of fashion-at-the-moment. The store could use a more diverse selection, but on the plus side, you can easily find good brands in good condition at utterly reasonable prices. Their womens' jeans section tops out at twelve with a scant few offerings for anyone larger than that, though tiny pants fight for space in the lower ranks. Too, the larger shirts and sweaters tend toward the dowdy and shabby, which is disappointing. more
