I can't recommend them 4/12/2016

I would like to preface this review by saying that the guys at Budget Transmission Center are nice, but I cannot recommend them to anyone, nor will I be going back after my unpleasant experience with them. They kept my truck for months and they told me that they were going to bring in a wire specialist to fix the problem, which is why it took them so long. During this time, my wife was very sick and I was on social security, so I really needed the truck. It cost them $3000 and they didn't fix the truck properly, so I had to bring it back two more times, which cost me an additional $600. $3600 for a poor experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. I also suspect that they transported transmissions in my truck while it was in their shop, because the back of my truck had a lot of oil stains in it. They cleaned it up, but I wasn't too happy about it. They also broke my gas cap and had to replace it. I had never been to their shop before, but they had a sign that said 'transmission mechanic wanted' and I should have taken that as a sign. It was a really unfortunate experience and I wish I had never taken my truck to Budget Transmission Center. more

They take far too long to do work 4/7/2016

I went to the guys over at Budget Transmission Center a couple of times and I was really not impressed with them. First and foremost they take far too long to do the job. I went to them twice last year and they had my car for a total of three and a half months, which is just too long for me to be without my car. When I got my car back the second time it started springing problems and flashing lights within a month or two and when I took it to another place, they showed me where these guys had been careless and missed doing certain steps. They just jump from job to job and they don't necessarily finish what they start which is what led to me having problems after they had my car. The guys that work here are great guys, but I simply cannot afford to keep going to them any more. more

They were in and out with how they did the job. This was my first time using them and I'd go back. The prices were reasonable and they were very honest and straightforward with me. more

Excellent. Affordable, communicative, helpful. 3/11/2016

So far, Budget Transmission Center has been excellent. I have recommended them to friends already. First of all, they are affordable and every time that I have a question, they can answer with specifics about what they need, what's happening and what parts need to be changed and why in the vehicle. So far, I have never had a complain about anything that they have done. They also provide transportation while they are working on the car. If you need a ride back to your house or to come back to the shop, they take you there. This is the only mechanic that I have used that did that, usually they let you figure it out for yourself. So, that's a very nice touch. If I ever need to, I would definitely use them again. So far, I'm satisfied with the service and I don't have one single complain. more

Amazing value 3/9/2016

I go to the guys at Budget Transmission Center all the time. These guys are really great and I always feel comfortable leaving my car with them. The thing that really keeps me coming back though is their prices. They really have great value and they don't try to get you for every penny that you own which I really appreciate. They do great work at a great price, why would you go anywhere else? more

The worst place to take your vehicle 3/8/2016

I had a terrible experience at Budget Transmission Center and the people who work here were extremely careless with my truck. I had my car in their shop for two days and during this time, they were going to tow it to another garage. My truck had no brakes which is why it was in their shop and when they went to move it from their tow truck, the truck rolled down and hit their garage door, completely damaging and scratching my truck. The worst part is that they weren't even going to tell me. When I came to their shop, the guy made a comment like, "I should charge YOU for my garage door," and was completely unprofessional and didn't offer to make things right or fix my truck. This was last summer and I'm still upset about what happened. It was just awful, do not take your car to Budget Transmission Center. more

Completely unsatisfied. 3/1/2016

Last year, in September we settled upon an internet ad for a transmission replacement. The ad stated we could get a new transmission for $1,300. I didn't even know it was going to Budget originally. The internet ad was in Middletown and I guess they have someone putting up ads and having them handle the work without knowing the pricing. When I went to go get the car they later told me it would cost double what they quoted. When I decided I didn't want to pay that and pick it up, It was completely disassembled. Before I can take it they had to assemble it but they would charge 6 or 700 dollars just to do that. So instead I had them do the work instead of assembling it and taking it elsewhere. I was totally displeased they had it for a month. it was night mare dealing with them We wound up paying $2,300 which is way over $1,300 we were expecting to pay. Totally not pleased with their service. Its a 3rd party that is booking these things and they just assume its OK to fix without knowing what price was quoted to the customer. We did get the car repaired that's why the 2 stars, but we were totally not pleased with it. Up until a year to bring it back if something happens to transmission. We contacted Sammy the owner of Budget and he said we were third customer at the time who was badly misquoted by and outside party they work with. more

Fast, honest and professional. No complaints. 2/25/2016

Budget Transmission Center didn't change my transmission, but I did take my car in because I thought that maybe it was the transmission what was giving me problems. So, I took the car in and upon assessing it they told me that all they had to do was change the coils. One of them was burnt so the car didn't have enough power to switch from one gear to the other. The company seemed to be fast and honest, They were professional and the price, you know, it was fair. It wasn't too much or too little, just fair and I don't have any complaints about that or about anything else. more

Fair price and good work. 2/18/2016

Budget Transmission Center is right down the street from my real state office and I took my older car there because I started having issues with the transmission, it started slipping. So, they took a look at my 1989 vehicle, so it was a tricky one to repair, and I asked if they knew how to fix the transmission in such an old car and he said no problem, so I told them to go ahead. I thought that the pricing was fair, I know how to fix them and I have done transmission work before so I knew what it was going to be, the cost was certainly fair. more

Like gold 2/8/2016

I recommend to Budget Transmission Center to everyone. Their prices are great, their services are great and I don't feel like I'm getting robbed. A friend of mine recommended them to me, and I've been going to them for at least two years--and have also sent my brother there. They have worked on electrical problems, the alternator, battery, door locks and something with the ignition. Sometimes they deliver on time, but sometimes they find other problems or need to go deeper. I would rather they fix it than deliver it on time and then something breaks. They have saved me a lot of aggravation. One time they towed my car for free when I had an axle and a drivetrain problem. I could have driven it over there, but they said not to. They are always great, friendly and take care of me. They tell me it is fixed, and I know when I get it back that the problem is fixed. more

Excellent service. Quick and professional. 1/27/2016

I had a very good experience with Budget Transmission Center. I went there to get help with my transmission and the service was excellent. I had no problems with them. I had my transmission installed and also they've been taking care of my transmission services ever since. Things like the oil and overall maintenance. They rebuilt it a couple year ago but I have continued suing them. The boss there running the shop, Sammy, he provides excellent service. They are quick and professional, recommend them all the way. more

Budget Transmission Center fixed a parking cable and fixed a leakage in my transmission and they did a great job. The mechanics are very friendly and honest and the prices are unbeatable. I have a scheduled appointment this week to get an oil change and a new water pump, Budget Transmission Center is my go to auto shop and it's been great doing business with them. more

I would not recommend them to anybody 1/11/2016

I brought my car to Budget Transmission Center so they would fix it and they didn't do a good job. In the beginning it seemed as if it was fixed, but they didn't install one of the pieces correctly. I have a friend who is a mechanic and he told me that the piece was broken. I would have had my friend fix the car but he was too busy, so I went back to Budget Transmission Center and told them what my friend had said. They said that the work they had done was fine and they didn't hold themselves responsible for replacing the broken piece. That was not what I paid for, the whole thing was a disaster. I trusted them to do a good job and had even recommended them to some friends but they ended up charging me for more problems. To prevent something like this happening to somebody else, I would not recommend them to anybody. more

The best choice in the area. 1/6/2016

I've gotten my transmission and my clutch done by Budget Transmission Center and both times they've gone the extra mile for me. They're prices are significantly lower than the big chain stores and you get excellent customer service from them at no additional price. They're super nice guys and get the job done. more

Very bad experience! 12/11/2015

I took my car to them because my motor burned out. The guy there charged me a ton of money for a motor that had 60,000 miles on it. He said it would work fine for my jeep and that there would be no problems. But I ended up having tons of problems with it and my car had trouble starting. I also found out that the water pump was broken and there were other problems with the motor. I will never go to this place again! more

Excellent 11/12/2015

The people at Budget Transmission Center were very friendly and went above and beyond to help me out. I needed help with my transmission and a few non-transmission parts replaced. They were able to see me at a time that was convenient and provided quick service. They really went into the details of what was going on and completed the work when they said they would. Everyone there is trustworthy, knowledgeable, and professional. Ray and Mike were especially awesome. I talked with them about the work and they provided the estimate. The cost wasn't cheap, but it was decent. I would definitely go back if needed. more

My experience at Budget Transmission Center was really good; they took care of my car. I brought the car in, they did what they said they were going to do, I got the car back, and it's been running great ever since. It wasn't late; they did it on time. Their prices were average. Other places were not cheaper but not the same price either. more

Transmission job on 03 gmc envoy 10/20/2015

Well , not even six months after I had the work done I find myself on the side of the highway because the transmission failed while I was accelerating to change lanes. I was more concerned about my elderly grandmother who was in my truck at the time. When I called budget they reported that their flat bed truck was down and it will be some time before they could come pick it up. All faith that I had in the job has come crashing down I will give update on professionalism and work once the do pick up my truck. Concerned customer. more

Awesome job! 10/12/2015

Budget Transmission Center repaired the transmission in my 2003 Acura TL. They did a great job and I have no complaints about my experience with them. The price was totally on point. They were accommodating to my budget and willing to work with me, which was great. They worked quickly, but not in a way that was rushed. Everyone there was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. They explained what was going on. It was easy to schedule with them, I just dropped my car off and they were fine. They got the job done correctly and I highly recommend them. more
