The only vet to have. 8/13/2010

I never write reviews for anyone. But after reading some of the negativity concerning this clinic, I have to comment. The negative reviews were from people who unfortunately encountered poor representation from a staff member. I believe that the individual responsible for those incidents is no longer employed at this clinic. And it is important to note that it was not the doctor speaking to those people. The doctor is a kind and personable man willing to go the extra mile. I always thought of Dr. Lindstrom as a guy who was passionate about tending to the well being of all types of animals. Dr. Lindstrom is anything BUT after your money. Just compare his fees with others out there. His fees are extremely reasonable, and while he is ""old school,"" it is what works for him and apparently worked very well for my aging cats. No high-end techno-equipment imaginable is comparable with his knowledge and experience. Besides, having those fancy things around would have increased his fees. I will not go to any other vet than Dr. Lindstrom because of his sincere compassion and honesty. He is straight forward, tells you what is going on, gives you options, and definitely does not pressure you. He helps you make decisions, but does not make them for you. His love for animals of all kinds is evident, and his approach in treating my two aging cats the last few years was beyond my expectations . One lived to be 14.5 and the other recently died at 17. When the time was right to end their suffering, both went gently and permanently to sleep under the steady hands of Dr. Lindstrom. He treated me and my pets with only the utmost respect. I appreciated that. I don't have any pets left so I have no specially vested interest in this clinic except that should I ever acquire other pets again, I will go no where else but to the Buda Veterinary Clinic and have Dr. Lindstrom treat them. I am not really sure where I will go if he should ever become unavailable. I have nothing but super positive comments about my entire experience of having had Dr. Lindstrom treat my pets. His integrity speaks volumes. You would be wasting your time and money going elsewhere. // more

Our vet for life 1/15/2009

My entire extended family of native Austinites uses Dr. Lindrstom for all our our pets health care. Over the years his office and staff have been there from the puppy stage to the untimely end, all the while seeing to it that we understand whats necessary to prolong our pets life. One Sun. our older dog MAX woke us up and we realized he was close to the end. We called the office and Dr. Lindstrom and his staff came in to help my 14 year old dog ( and my wife and I ) say goodbye to our beloved Schnauzer. We all ended up crying including Dr. Lindstrom. Not something you will find at the BIG BOX pet stores. For an Aggie he takes EXCELLENT care of UT pets too. Pros: Inexpensive compared to other vets more

Great Vet who knows his stuff, very old school... 6/16/2008

Dr. Lindstrom is an amazing veterinarian who really knows what he is doing. He has a very old shool approach with may turn some people off. But this is what he knows and he is very good at what he does. He has a special affinity for large animal medicine. If you have livestock, horses etc. this is the place to call. He makes farm calls and definitely has great knowledge and skills working with large animals. He is just south of Austin and has very reasonable pricing. He even does emergency calls and I am sure you can count on one hand the number of personal vets in Austin that have after hours emergency services. He is one of a kind, with western old school services and he is definitely not in it just for the money, like the others are. more

Late night vet, is a great vet! 6/13/2008

We have taken our dog to Dr. Lindstrom for a few years. One night she fell over and I thought she was dead she wasn't breathing. I got her to come too and I called the clinic, not thinking it was 9pm on a Friday night. I got the recording that gave another # to call. I called it and it was his cell phone. He was in Austin at the time but was on his was to the office and would meet me there. I took her in and he did a full work up. It is nice to know that when you are in need at a late hour you can depend on your vet. When it comes down to it you need to make sure you have spoken to your vet, not the office staff, because the office staff is not your vet. You never know if they have even spoken to your vet or just put you on hold and came back to you. Dr. Lindstrom is amazing and I will tell that story to anyone that comes along. Pros: Great vet, he is amazing more

Vet lacks flexibility and was insensitive to our needs 1/10/2008

Our dog was scheduled to receive for a simple vaccination that didn't require an exam so the appoitment should have taken only a few minutes. At 8:00am, it was 35 degrees outside and the dog was in a crate in the back of the truck. We were running about 10 minutes late due to the railroad crossing signal over FM 1626 malfunctioning, and at 8 am and traffic was really backed up. When I called to let them know, we were told that the Dr. would not see us. There was no attempt made to try and work us in and we were told to come back late that afternoon. This was quite an inconvenience for us and we were upset by the insensitivity of this vet. We will be switching to another vet immediately! more

Will not be going back or recommending Dr. Lindstrom of Buda Veterinary Clinic 10/23/2007

My wife and I had used Dr. Lindstrom for care for our pets for a number of years. We had good service. Office staff was always polite. During the week, one morning, we discovered that our older dog had all of the symptoms of having had a stroke. My wife frantically called Dr. Lindstrom's clinic to request an appointment. The staff member put her on hold and evidently spoke to Dr. Lindstrom. My wife was told that Dr. Lindstrom was there but to busy and would not see our dog that day. I have never known a vet that would not squeeze someone in with an emergency. I will never go back and I always tell this story to whom ever I can so they will not suffer the pain that we did because of this guys callousness. Pros: Location, office staff Cons: not dependable more

Compassionate and knowledgeable 7/23/2007

I have been bringing my many animals to Dr. Lindstrom and his staff for over 8 years. I have had cats and dogs of many breeds and sizes. Some of them have had some devasting problems. Dr. Lindstrom and his staff are very knowledgeable and have diagnosed and treated my animals very well. I have a 12 year old daughter and she is very sensitive to her pets. The staff always makes her feel like her pet (best friend) is going to be taken care of as if this animal were a pet of Dr. Linstrom's family. I have had to put animals down and the staff always takes the time to go over all the options in a very sad time and help us make the best decision for the animal. Pros: Great value Cons: Closed Saturday afternoons more

Nothing but positives 3/30/2007

I really enjoy going to this vet. I don't normally post on here, but wanted to after reading the last post. My parents started to see this vet after seeing the prices of his medication compared to their other vet. He gave them a generic equivalent and saved them over $70 a month. On top of this, I have a 16 year old cat that has chronic kidney failure. This office has made me all the options from the least expensive to the most expensive, and they have always made me feel okay about my treatment decisions. They have been very courteous on the phone and have been patient with me when describing the problems and asking for advice. I don't feel like they are out to get their money's worth from me which I have found to be the problem at a lot of places. They really do seem to care about the animals and understand the restraints of their owners. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Pros: gives lots of options; isn't in it just for the money Cons: I have to drive far! :) more

So So vet place, could use friendlier staff answering the phones 2/5/2007

My husband has been going here for years, and his dog overcame Parvo. Yea!, but I haven't had such good luck. My dog eats everything, zippers, weed-n-feed, base boards, if it can be consumed she'll do it. I felt that when I had to call to see if she could be seriously injured, I was a problem. I didn't receive great customer service like I thought I should. I felt very rushed on the phone and that I was wasting the employee's time. The last instance that really made me decide to stop going here was when my small dog was bitten by a spider on a Saturday morning. I called the vet's office, and was told by the front desk that I would have to take her somewhere else. I didn't understand this, nor did I like the answer I received. It was 9am in the morning and my normal vet (that I have shelled out hundreds of dollars to) refused to service me. Needless to say, I went elsewhere and was seen immediately. We have had good experiences w/ this vet, but the negative ones outweigh the possitives. We're looking for a wonderful vet and friendly staff to assist us. Pros: easy to pick up meds, make appointments Cons: customer service of staff more
