2O16- Our parent passed away a few months ago, and we had the viewing at Ganleys Funeral Home. The day we got there to see it all & make arrangements, the viewing room was a disaster and dirty, dust everywhere but of course we thought it would be all cleaned up for the viewing day. It wasn't! The actual "day" of the viewing, the room was filthy. They never vacuumed the entire carpet in the room, never dusted their fake plants, didn't dust/sweep anything! Brooms, vacuum, big dustpan, odds & end furniture astrew with papers laying astrew all over the desk in entrance. They didn't even put that away. Was in total disarray. While us siblings put our snack table up for our family members/guests that were about to arrive, we then had to dust and clean EVERYWHERE. Was horrible. Then in the restroom the baseboards were all torn off the wall and laying everywhere.....old run down inside and out....plus...there is a storage room right across from the restrooms that is filled with buckets and all kinds of junk out in the open. Thank God our guests at the viewing never went over to use the restroom. How embarrassing. They do not take pride in their funerals. Its cheap, but you don't have to be that neglectful to customers. Also, we gave the older man that works there, a photo of our loved one so he could use it for fixing the body up for the viewing. OMGosh! he gave the photo to the newspaper place and he never made a copy for himself so he never fixed our loved one's hair right at all, and lost an item that was to go on the garment in the casket that very day, and our loved one's mouth was all puffed out and contorted and looked horrid!! Then after everyone left, my other parent wanted a few minutes to say a quiet goodbye, and during those moments, Mr. Ganley walks in and loudly says 'how is it going?" and we had like 20 minutes left on our time. I couldn't believe it. Totally interrupted our parent's private "last" goodbye time after 60 yrs of marriage. Avoid this place at all costs. Mr. Ganley is VERY nice, but thats it.
