Good for the coupons... 1/14/2006

If you can stand the tacky decor, huge portions (even if you order "Buca Small") and nothing-special food, Buca di Beppo, coincidently located right across the street from Olive Garden, is good. They do have a lot of coupons (I came with a $10 gift card they mailed to my house.) and if you're just ordering something average like spaghetti and meatballs or calamari it is worthwhile. The food is okay, and it beats mall stuff any day. They have nice bread too. But I still like Olive Garden more. Let me affirm the previous reviewer's positions: I don't see what's so great about this place. It is just so gaudy inside. Like they have a picture of someone peeing in the bathroom and a whole room dedicated to Pope John Paul. This former Chi-Chis just isn't that great. more

Go with friends to truly enjoy this place 8/29/2005

Buca believes in family style portions, so bring your family. Unless you and your significant other like to eat mountains of food and/or have mountains of leftovers. The atmosphere of Buca is a chain restaurant attempting to be a little, local Italian joint. The decor includes Frank Sinatra paraphenalia, a lot of old time photos and luckily only in Jenkintown, a replica of the pope's head. Why anyone would want to sit at a table with the pope staring at them is beyond me, but my catholic guilt kicked in just seeing it. Anyway, the food is good, though not outstanding. it is a fun place to go with a group of people and sample a lot of different things. more

Family style is Oversized 8/19/2005

My husband and I ventured over the the Cherry Hill location of this restaurant chain known for its King of Prussia prowess. The "family style" menu doesn't suit the average appetitie of a couple dining out. Ordering is restricted to very large portions with only a few entrees to choose from in smaller sizes. The cuisine: typical Italian with little flair. The bar is small but, the sangria was good. The restaurant layout is a bit choppy with a series of rooms attempting to lend a homey feel to this re-done Chi Chi's restaurant. I'm not goin' back. more
