Ask for Raul!! 6/4/2011

I have to say we just had my sister's 40th bday party at Brownes and it was great! From my first phone call to inquire, right up until all 14 of us were getting pedicures while sipping champagne, they could not have been any nicer. I planned the party from New York and Raul made sure that everything was in order before I even got to Florida. And then the day of, he made sure everything was perfect so that we all enjoyed the most lovely girls morning together. Thank you to him and each of the technicians who helped us!! more

Never Returning 1/24/2011

I can't believe how much this place changed for the WORST! Years ago I used to visit this place and had wonderful experiences. Recently, my sister and I visited and not only did we wait 20 minutes for a scheduled mani/pedi, but in the end when we paid we were each given different prices and told that regardless of what the brochure says we have to pay more money because of who gave us the service..in other words, the nail technicians charged premium prices based on who they were. I told the girl that we wanted the price marked on the brochure and she said ""oh well, take it up with the salon owner"". What kind of answer is that??? How can you treat customers likes this? Now that I researched this salon I realize all the poor reviews. Had I read the reviews, I would NEVER had visited BROWNES & CO.!! There's a reason why the first floor is completely bare and the landlord is leasing it. NEVER GO HERE! more

what a dump... 12/25/2010

I can't believe this place is still open. I went there a couple of times and I felt as if I was slapped in the face. The place was filthy, unorganized and my manicure was the worst I ever had. This place is a joke and it takes up a prime piece of real estate up on LIncoln road - why? Can we get some nice Bliss Spa or something else there? Brownes is a nuisance. more

this nasty woman does not deserve the staff she has. she is rude, vengeful, and frankly deserves to be locked out of her own establishment. i have gone there when i winter in miami beach but i won't go there again. wishing the staff the best. they truly do not deserve this boorish brute nicki.... This has pretty much been said by many of the people before me, but I cannot stress the point we're making. Down with Brownes & Co. South Beach! Support the Staff...Help Drop the Rates! 12/13/2009

The overwhelming negative atmosphere is unavoidable. You can feel it from the moment you walk in. The staff try to be nice, but you can see it in their eyes. Tonight, I saw Tabitha's Salon Take Over, and now it all makes sense. Please! If you care about the staff of this salon, you will help get them out of their situation by boycotting the South Beach location and hitting the owner where she will hopefully notice--her pocketbook. Nikki is not that person that everybody watch in the show last night-she's even worse-we just watch the top of the iceberg last night! Only person that don't realize that yet is Nikki hersrelf... just hope to see some changes now,we're not living on the 18th Century anymore and people that need to work for make a living does not deserve this kind of treatment! Best Wax in Miami 6/16/2008

I've been getting waxed with Elaine for 4 years now. She's is wonderfully kind and extraordinarly professional. Aside from her warm dimeaner, her waxing is by far the best I've had in Miami. Best Massage Ever 5/5/2008

I had the best massage with Jackie on Tuesday 4.29.08. I am 7.5 months pregnant and she was fantastic! I don't live in Miami, but was down for one last girl?s vacation. I might have to return - she is that good. She also does regular massages specializing in deep tissue (so I was told). more

Relaxing at a great price and location....... 9/25/2007

i just had a glorious facial with Sue......ask for a cleansing aroma and a peel to follow.it will take 10yrs off and change your mood entirely.....great location too with a beautiful spa, really reasonable prices just $135 for the 75min treatment. i got a manicure afterwards and it was a thoroughly professional job. Pros: great value for your $$$ Cons: none that i can tell more

Yest they have a huge selection-even tho they could dust off some of the boxes. But selection doesn't make up for such poor service. Everyone there seems more interested in what went on last night than serving customers. This is definitely not Sephora where in addition to great selection you get great service. Salespeople here are moody, arrogant and rude. It's basically buy now or get out. Bad customer service and crowded dusty store is a real turn-off. Cons: very poor customer service, not clean, high prices more

ok if you are looking all around the globe for a store like this, look no more. Miami beach is hot because of places like this. It has men's stuff for shaving you can't find anywhere and perfume & makeup it has lots. The best prices for Aveda anyewhere, i like the smell the best it's been open for years and smells like an old established pharmacy. keep it up guys we need a store like this in every city in the US Pros: the best stuff anywhere Cons: too much to choose from not enough $ to spend....... do they have sales ever? more

if you need a beauty product or something like a razor , shampoo they have it if they dont they know who does and they tell you! Customer service is friendly and knowledgeable, one woman knew what all the what all the hair treatments did. they also have a spa and yoga center upstairs Pros: has everything you need Cons: some of it is expensive but worth smelling the store at least more

Terrible Owner and Terrible Service 7/30/2006

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon! There were multipe appointments that were confused (and several other unhappy customers) and the staff was not proactive. Instead of starting to help people they stood around and argued among themselves about what they were going to do, I should mention it is also the worst mani/pedi I have ever had. After 2 hours I finally was finished and when I complained the ""owner"" was called and said that since the appointment was booked correctly there was nothing she could do to compensate me. Meanwhile I was asked over 3x if I wanted a manicure and what my name was, so if it was booked correctly why did no one know my name or what I needed done? The owner then had the audacity to say I was late to my appointment which was an insane LIE, I was about 5 minutes early! I do not understand how this salon is still running?? I BEG YOU... Favorite Find in South Beach 12/18/2005

wonderful staff and quality service for affordable prices (by South Beach standards, of course). My stylist and colorist were great. It's now my new salon. I had tried a salon out in the burbs' thinking I'd save money. Ha. Well, out in the suburbs my hair orange and I paid $100 more. But at Some Like it Hot, my hair was soft and smooth, golden blonde and gorgeous. And the stylist Lisa is so friendly and talented! Peter (colorist) was also great. They have great hours and a super friendly staff. My shampoo girl didn't speak English, but gave me a great neck massage with my rinse. I'll take it. All I Want Is Customer Service! 9/12/2005

After being treated rudely by an employee I asked for Manager/Director. I was given Nikki Fienberg's name. When I left a message for her, I hoped she would respond. It's been over 2 weeks and guess what? Nothing-not even a phone call. Now I understand why employees are so rude. If the boss doesn't care, why should the help! This place is a beauty mecca for the die hard product junkie, they have stuff i never even heard of before let alone seen. it's obvious it's owned by europeans cos it has stuff from all over the globe. Zarvis, dr harris, pixi beauty all from London and aqua di parma and even Commes des garcons perfumes. the smell is divine of diptique candles wafting out the door and even hard to get Kerastase hair shampoos.
