Best

This is my family's favorite Korean BBQ to eat we always go here whenever we visit SF. My mom is korean and we're pretty picky about korean restaurants but this place is awesome....

Worst

i've been comin' & stayin' away for years... service is very spotty these days... if/when you order ""korean"" short ribs, should they are served with no bones attached, send it...

Should have stayed away 10/4/2003

I went to Brothers today because a few people recommend it to me and because of the reviews I saw here. I ordered the lunch special- BBQ pork and got 5 side dishes with it. Sure, it was cheap- only $6.95 but the portions were small and the veggie sides were not unlimited (like I'm used to at Korea House in Sunnyvale- which is GREAT!). My companion got the BBQ Pork which was under BBQed and lacked taste. The BBQ chicken was OK. I've had way more flavorful meat elsewhere- like Palace BBQ in Sunnyvale. I was disappointed in this place as I am looking for a Korean restaurant to replace the Sunnyvale ones. Can anyone suggest a better place in the city? Pros: inexpensive Cons: lacked flavor, small portions, stingy more

very uneven performance 12/20/2002

i've been comin' & stayin' away for years... service is very spotty these days... if/when you order ""korean"" short ribs, should they are served with no bones attached, send it back -- you've been ripped off!!! this has happened *twice* to me, with no forewarning of the substitution in advance... on those nights, order elsewhere off the menu... or elsewhere period... when they do ""do it"" right, it's *excellent* fare... if ya want *hot* say so, they'll make it korean hot on request... more

Rubberband in my soup!! 11/1/2002

The service was poor! The workers are rude! There was a rubberband in my Kim Chee soup. Two weeks later, I decided to give it a second chance. I requested an extra side order of Kim Chee, the man at the counter stated that if I wanted extra Kim Chee that I should go down the street to the Korean Market! I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone! more

yum! 10/11/2002

i love brothers. my favorite korean restaurant in the sf bay area! more

Best Korean Food in SF! 9/8/2002

Despite all the other bad reviews, I would like to ask what Korean restaurant in SF tops this one??? Although not the hippest place to go to, the good is WELL worth it! Lunch specials before 2pm are excellent...bulgogi and kal bi so tender and flavorful, along with all the little appetizers! I have been to several Korean restaurants in the bay area and undoubtedly still believe this is the best place! True that LA's Korean cuisine cannot compare, but still have to give props to what IS good here at home! more

bad 8/8/2002

i don't like service and foods for this restaurant. i try to grill short rib in my table, i smell gas. it seems like burning. i think every kinds of foods look old, especially side dishes and under house soups. i am sorry to tell you that if you want to eat korean foods, go to other place, not this restaurant. more

Brother's is great 7/28/2002

If you don't really mind a little bit of a wait, then Brother's is one of the best korean bbq restaurant's in the entire Bay Area. But the wait for the food is well worth it! Great service and the food dishes are one of the best! Pros: meat selection, dishes, service Cons: long wait more

Go here if you want Crappy Food 6/21/2002

If Brother's is the Best Korean restaurant in SF...then I feel sorry for SF. Not only was the food bland and tasteless, but the meat was tough and chewy. I have vowed to never step foot in here again. Here's an analogy: Brother's is to Koreans as Panda Express is to Chinese...in other words, NOT authentic. My mom and grandma would be ashamed that these ""chefs"" would feed the public with this crap and call it Korean food. If you want the best Korean meal you've ever had, invest in a trip down to L.A. If you can't make it down to LA, at least go to Oakland or Sunnyvale/SJ. Cons: FOOD, TASTE more
