Brooklyn Union Maintenance

They think they're slick. They called my parents and convinced them that they were calling from a city agency and made an appointment. I just happened to be speaking to my mom on the day of the scheduled appointment. It sounded suspicious to me. I took the number and called. A woman answered the phone. I explained that I was calling on behalf of my parents who had a scheduled appointment and that I wanted to get some more information before they arrived. I asked what the name of the company was. She said she would have to have a salesperson call me back. I was like, ""You can't tell me the name of the company?"". She said she was the answering service. Yeah ok! I asked again. ""Are you with a city agency or are you a private company looking for business? She said they were Brooklyn Union. I said, ""Brooklyn Union what? Gas?"". (I know it doesn't exist anymore but I wanted to see what she said)""She said, ""Yes"". She said they don't provide the gas but they provide the service and that a sales rep would call me back. I emphasized that someone better call me back because someone from their company was supposed to be at my parents house in 15 minutes and I told her that if I did not get a call back I would NOT let anyone in their home. She asked me what my parents last name was and said someone would call me back. I told her again, ""You better have someone call me back. Maybe they didn't understand when you called to confuse them but I do understand"". Needless to say, NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK and when I called the same number back a bit later it just rang and rang and rang. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTISTS! They prey on the elderly and, in my parents case, people who have a slight accent. Well, guess what, these people happened to have a daughter that was one step ahead of you! I wish everyone had someone to look out for them. SHAME ON YOU! Wonder how much you had to pay the people who posted positive comments above? I had not choice but to select at least one star for a rating but they should have a ""0"" as a selection. What a disgrace! HEY BERNADETTE.....MAYBE ONE DAY IT'LL BE YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE! OH WAIT...THE WAY THEY RAISED YOU SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT THEM TOO! more

They call people trying to scam them into services that they don't need by saying that they need to check your draft because of your new boiler. They said they got my information because of the papers I filed on my gas boiler and that I need to comply because the gas company requires it. Don't worry they told me, its a free service. There is no gas boiler in my home, there is no paper work that was filed and the gas company has never given them the right to represent them in any sort of action. more
