The food was good. I got the french toast and the three eggs, and they were exactly what I wanted. The french toast in particular was good. However, the order was almost an hour late and was completely cold by the time it got to me. I had no communication from the restaurant as to why my order was late. more

CAESAR SALAD WAS GOOD. I ORDERED PASTA (RAVIOLI) WITH SAUSAGE. NEVER GOT THE SAUSAGE. I WILL NOT ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. more

Great food for delivery 4/22/2010

We took a gamble and tried this place w/ delivery, and it turned out pretty well - always fun to try new cuisines! We got the doner kabob, which was really good and a HUGE portion. It came with a ""salad,"" which we later figured out was actually a dessert bar made up of some stringy sweet stuff and nuts (doesn't sound/look too appetizing but it was really good). The price wasn't too bad either, pretty standard for a mid-range delivery restaurant in the Brookline area. The delivery did take 1.5 hours instead of 45 minutes, so I'm docking a star for that... Definitely worth a try! Pros: Huge portions, good Turkish food Cons: Slow delivery/service, misrepresentation of side dishes more

I Order Breakfast here for Delivery. The only place in my area that will deliver breakfast. Food is very yummy. good value. The only complaint I have is there is a Delivery charge. which I would like to see go. With Xtra charges & taxes you could ad up to an extra $10 on to your bill. more

service with a smile 3/9/2008

Went to the family restaurant Sunday night in fact i was really looking forward to it. The service here to say the least needs attention. Not a smile or a simple hello when we entered in fact we were made to feel like a unwanted Family member. We waited for ten minutes before we got up and left. I did get a glass of water which was cold like the service. That was my first and last time i will ever enter the so called Family well not my Family restaurant. more

Wonderful food! 2/7/2007

We have gone back to Family Restaurant repeatedly since discovering it last Spring. We have also introduced it to all our friends. The food is wonderful, varied, and very homey. From the outside, the place looks a bit like a converted diner, but that's easily forgotten by the first bite. We love everything we have tried: the hummus is some of the best in Boston, the tomato soup, the chicken and mixed grill kebabs, the eggplant dishes, and most importantly, the dessert! Every time we try a different housemade dessert and we have yet to be disappointed. This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants and quite affordable, too. Pros: Food, Dessert, Comfortable seating Cons: not much! more

do not even try to go 11/17/2006

It was not succesful. I brought my friends to introduce turkish food but the service was very bad. Then they told us they burnt the pide. The last and the disgusting part was: WE SAW A small creature under the table(mouse)... It was discusting and I got very embarassed,,, Pros: No pros Cons: service was awful more

Old food 10/1/2006

I went there because some friends recommended. But they served undercooked meat when i asked for ""very well done"" - at least 2 days old rice and 2 days old salad mixed with couple fresh ingredients. It was a very bad experience for me. The only thing I liked was the calamari. Pros: Turkish food Cons: Old food more

One of my favorites! 8/7/2006

Ive been to this restaurant many times since i discovered it a couple of months ago. I love taking my friends and family here because it is pretty much guaranteed that they would enjoy the food. Everyone should also try out their desserts. I also love how they are very affordable and are open late at night. They will definitely be seeing more of me and my family. Pros: food, price, food Cons: need a stronger a/c more

Great Food 3/17/2006

Ive been to this place about 5 times and Ive only ordered 2 things because they were great. I highly reccomend ordering the sultan's delight and the mixed grill Pros: food, location more
