Revisit your past 1/16/2006

This is one fo those places I heard about for years before I finally got up there to check it out. It was worth the trip. This is a recreation of a village in Renaissance times. There are shows, artists and craftsmen, food, and of course shops and more shops. Most of it sticks to the theme although of course it is pretty loosely interpreted. As a believer in reincarnation this place had a special resonance. No doubt most of these folks who participate are reliving good times they have experienced before. It is a total immersion experience. Everyone is in costume, and the environment is pretty convincing. Worth the trip. more

Bristol Renaissance Faire 10/24/2005

Bristol Renaissance Faire 12550 120 Ave Kenosha WI 262-396-4320 Entertainment I guess that I was expecting MORE than what I got for going to the Faire. I THOUGHT that there would be plenty of things to do once you paid your admission price at the door. Since everything is INCLUDED, I figured that there would be lots to see! Well, we saw LOTS and LOTS . . . of vendors. And strolling musicians playing for money. And strolling entertainers entertaining for money. After a few hours, it seemed like a big money pit! Sure, there were some events that were fun to watch - but not enough to justify the cost of the ticket. We ended up doing the cheapest thing there was to do - people watch! That was quite enjoyable and worth the "price!" It was fun to see how many folks dress up to partake in the activities of the day. All in all, I'm glad that I went - but would caution people to eat before they arrive and grab one of those 2 for 1 coupons before heading here! more

Great rennaisance attraction 8/25/2005

The Bristol Rennaisance Faire is so much fun for the whole family. Every summer they come to Kenosha Wisconsin (on the weekends) and they turn back time to the Rennaisance ara. men and women (and children) walk around all dressed in costume and you can get food and souveniers from the time period. Things as unique as a melted metal necklace. There are also jousting shows and jesters to entertain. The giant pickles are delicious! more

Renfair 8/20/2005

It is kind of hard to get to, but it is a must for any person who’s into the medieval world. I’m not one of those people. It is amusing to go to for an afternoon for those that aren’t. They have lots of free shows that can be amusing for a while: performances, strolling joke tellers, hawk shows, and lots of shops where you can find interesting items. more

Go back to old world charm 8/16/2005

The Bristol Renaissance Faire is a jump back into old Elizabethan England. During the fair this area is transformed into a 16th century English village filled with street performers, hundreds of actors in costume on over 9 stages throughout the village streets. Definitely a treat if you believe in chivalry. more
