I just get back from this Restaurant, went there cause was feeling lazy to cook at home.. and honestly the food is horrible!!...if you wanna get your sugar levels HIGH, order a Papaya Shake...!!..they put like 100 pounds of sugar to the shakes...I ordered a Rotisserie Chicken with boiled Yuca and it was really bad, the chicken was soooo dry ( I think that they put it in the dry machine before being served) the Yuca was now well cooked, it was kind of raw... One thing that I have to admit it is the attention of the staff, they are very courteous and well mannered... more

I have been going to Brisas Del Caribe for about 8 years. The food is always 1st rate and reminds me of my abuela's (grandmother's) cooking. The prices cannot be beat, large portions ie if you ask for a side of beans you get a huge bowl full :) Nice atmosphere too. They also have a take-out if you're so inclined. I am sorry to read that a prior customer had problems with billing (always check your bill before signing over your credit card anywhere) but that is not typical of the Brisas experience. I for one love going there and now so does my family :) I give it 5 stars! Pros: Great taste, variety at a great price Cons: Wish the space was a little bigger more

The food here is terrific. this is not a place for ambience. You come here to eat good home cooked meals. Like your madre cooked. I love it. more

ok i just had a friend tell me about this spot. saying it was good etc. etc. so i ate there food wasnt all the that and the service was horrible. i had went with a friend and we went dutch. so i paid for my food with credit card. my total came up to be like 21 dollars so i signed off on the credit car bill and gave the waitress a tip. tell me why i went back to texas and checked my credit card account and they charged me 158 dollars. wow. they overcharged me 132$. and i called the restaurant and the manager said let the bank handle it. so i ask him can you do something? he said no and sounded like he dont care. so i can i will report you to the better business bureau and hes response was.. so that wont hurt my business so go ahead...WOW Pros: NOT GOOD Cons: DO NOT GO more

This place is always packed no matter what time you go. Plan to wait for sit down service and even take out. Waiters are very nice and friendly, just a bit slow. Very fresh food, served in large quantities and very cheap. A dinner for 2 is usually around $20 including sodas and tip. We have tried everything on the menu and we do not have any complaints about their food. When ordering take out, always order from their lunch menu the price is cheaper than the dinner menu and you get more food. We have even catered food for a birthday party of 200 people and everyone loved their food. The food was done on time and very hot. Pros: Reasonable prices Cons: Very slow service more

I am a frequent diner at this place. In a city of growing fast food joints and generic eateries, this place is what neighborhood dining should be about. The food is amazingly good and amazingly inexpensive. The smell when you walk in will perk up any appetite. That smell ... a combination of fried goodies, garlic, and cilantro is so intoxicating. Very family orientated. Mostly latin crowd. Don't be put off by eating in the Bronx. Forget the stereotypes. The neighborhood is extremely safe and street parking is usually available. My favorite dishes: pulpo (octopus salad), fried snapper, platanos, and rotiserie chicken. Well, I've just talked myself into another trip to Castle Hill ! Pros: Tasty food. Amazing prices. Brisa del Caribe is a restaurant where you want to bring your friends and your family but I wouldn't recommend it for a quiet, romantic dinner because of its very family oriented nature. Everybody chats and laughs and has a good time. The atmosphere is warm and very friendly, the food is excellent, and the prices are right. The restaurant's decor is unpretentious but welcoming. Usually you have to wait a little while before you're served because the staff is all over the place: behind the counter as well as serving people at the tables but the wait is very well worth it. Pros: Delicious food, convenient location, good prices. Cons: Crowded most of the time. more

Best Value for the money anywhere. Food is always fresh and hot. They do so much business it couldn't be otherwise. Quality is excellent. They have a steam table to get you in and out. There is not one day this place is not completely packed with people waiting for take-out or for a table to open up. Portions are large and prices are low. It's like eating in Abuela's kitchen but without the mess to clean up afterwards. Pros: Food, Inexpensive, Food more

The you'll like this place. The food is great but I suggest you take it to go because the decor is cheesy, the atmosphere loud, and there is no space.
