Brickyard Pub & BBQ

After touring Old Fort Niagara, we made our way toward Youngstown with hungry tummies. After strolling the town and perusing menus, the five of us settled on the Brickyard. The waiter was casual and fun, joking with our teenagers and challenging them to a feast. We shared a couple of Ultimates, substituting Baby Back ribs for Old St Louis. We came away well satisfied and the bank was not broken. more

The Brickyard is a great place for barbecue. This is one place where we tend to take our out of town guests and many ask to return upon subsequent visits. While their salad offerings are average, the barbecue dishes are spectacular, particularly the pulled pork sandwich. The side dish offerings are varied and also very good, in particular the real mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato fries, and my personal favorite - hush puppies. We have children so we appreciate the variety on the children's menu as well. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. It can be quite crowded, depending on the timing of your visit, and rather loud as they do have a very active bar. My only complaint is that service can sometimes be rather slow, even when it is not busy. more

Brickyard has great food and is a nice family restuarant by day! At night it turns into a fun bar with decent prices! Definitely recommended for both! more

Visited this restaurant twice in the past 2 years, since we live over an hour away. Outdoor patio seating in the summertime for a weekday lunch is fun in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. (If it's a hot sunny afternoon, be sure your table has an umbrella or is in the shade - it's direct sunlight on the patio!) Patio seating was ample, and it was very busy at lunchtime...the patio tables were just about full. Wraps and burgers we ordered were excellent - fresh and well-presented.Service was quick and pleasant. Our first experience was more than pleasant - enough to bring us back again! For our second visit, we found indoor seating to be ample as well, but no problems getting a table on this Saturday mid-afternoon. Brisket salad is a highlight - generously sized, fresh greens with plenty of brisket sliced on top. All BBQ and smoking is done on premises, and a quality job at that. A side order of BBQ wings seemed 'too saucy' to half of our party, but cooked well nonetheless. Service was somewhat slower than average on a winter afternoon at less than 50% capacity, but very pleasant and friendly.
