Bret's Independent went well beyond what would normally be expected. It's a big relief to not have to worry about this kind of stuff when you trust somebody to do good quality and take care of you. They give you piece of mind, and your vehicle becomes one less thing you have to worry about. more

Bret's Independent has always been excellent. My husband and I have been going to Bret's for several years, then my husband passed away about 5 years ago, and it's just been really comforting to know that as a widow Bret's promised to take care of me. They have been very good to me. Since my husband died, my 28-year-old Lexus has had some big things go wrong with it. This last time it was actually kind of a surprise, but Bret's Independent made it a really good experience. Everyone at Bret's is very courteous, but not stiff. They're friendly, and I'm friends with these guys now, and especially with Bret. The place itself is spotless, and when it comes to the work they won't do anything until they run it by you first. They also let you know if it's something you can wait on. I appreciate them a lot. more

Honest and professional! 11/4/2011

I've been doing business with Bret's Independent for about 6 years. I run a car brokerage business, and I am constantly using Bret for my personal and business cars. I send all of my customers to him for service. I've never had any problems with him, ever! I think his honesty really stands out to me. He's never a hard sell and always does quality work. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional! 9/30/2011

I've only been going to Bret's Independent for a couple of months now, but as far as I'm concerned, he has all of my business! I took my car in on a fluke. I didn't have an appointment, and he took me in without a problem. I have an Avalon, and the windows weren't functioning correctly. The dealer was going to charge me an astronomical amount to even just look at it. Bret said he could check it out and wasn't going to charge me a dime for it! He even fixed it without knowing how! Something about the computers needing to be rebooted. I was very thankful for that. The next time I went in, was for a lube job and the 65,000 mile check. The dealer was going to charge an enormous amount for it, and Bret ended up charging a couple of hundred dollars less. The service is great. They get things done ahead of schedule or right on the dot. Bret has a great personality and is easy to deal with. He really bends over backwards to make things right with his customers. I've recommended him to my group of retired officers, as well as to my daughter, son and grandson. This is a really great company! Orville R. Bryce more

Bret's Independent epitomizes the small business that you want to deal with!! 8/25/2011

Bret at Bret's Independent has been great to us over the years. He's been our mechanic for 12 years! For instance, we were leaving on vacation, and I needed an oil change. I called Bret's Independent, and told him I was leaving the next day. I had totally dropped the ball on this and said I needed an oil change, but he said it was no problem and that he could fit me in. I was happy. Bret's Independent has done maintenance work on several different cars, including my wife's car. Bret always beats the price we get quoted from anybody else. If something goes wrong, he will make it fixed. The work done at Bret's Independent is top quality. Bret epitomizes the small business you want to deal with. The integrity is top notch and that's the person I want working on my vehicles. Bret at Bret's Independent is someone with integrity who stands by his work and product. A great dealership alternative! 6/30/2011

I've gone to Bret's Independent three times in the last nine months. Their service is like the service that used to be in this country: "service first and foremost." My best friend took his car to Bret's Independent and I had dropped him off. I met Bret there, and he had fair pricing even though he had to do a big job on my friend's car. He had a great attitude and service was number one there. I asked Bret today, "Do people tell your shop is the cleanest mechanic shop they'd ever been in?" Bret replied, "All time time." It's so clean you could eat off it. Bret's Independent was very professional. I had had good experiences elsewhere but Bret's Independent put such an accent on their service. My dream auto shop... It really does exist! 6/1/2011

This is the most professional shop I have ever set foot in.The work is great and the price is right! :) I highly recommend this shop to everyone I know. When buying my next car I will make sure it is a Honda just so I can take it to Bret's. I feel very fortunate to finally have a shop I can trust for all my repairs and relieved that the elusive search for a honest mechanic is finally over !!! more

You won't find better value for your money than at Bret's Independent. 5/11/2011

I've been going to Bret's Independent with my Hondas for close to 17 or 18 years. I am so impressed with the professional manner in which they conduct business. The level and appreciation they have of customer service is something that we don't see any longer. The customer is the person who keeps the business running, and Bret's Independent treats their customers accordingly. It is a very, very good deal for the money. On the mechanical side, they have been exemplary as far as fixing whatever problems I have. When my brand new Honda wasn't getting the mileage I expected, I asked them to run tests 3 separate times, and they did it even though they knew, and told me, that nothing was wrong. They did it because I asked them to, and they bent over backwards for me so that I would feel comfortable with the car. I have seen them bend over backwards for myself and for others. I always feel that having a car mechanic you can trust with your life, because they will be the ones to keep your car running and safe, is almost as important as having a doctor you can trust. Bret is one of those people. You can take their opinion to the bank. They have such a good value for the dollar. The value is so worth it, and it is one less thing you have to worry about. They will charge you a fair price to fix it, and once it is done, you can put it away. You don't have to think about it again. I am so glad I found Bret's Independent; they are a topnotch act. I won't go anywhere else. 4/12/2011

Bret's Independent worked my car over from the front to the back. They did it quickly, and they did a really good job. They found some things that I didn't even know about, and they asked me if I wanted them fixed then or later. The entire job was done faster than expected. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional, and they are very polite. They washed my car and everything. I have been using them for about a year and a half, and I won't go anywhere else. more

Goes the extra mile. 2/22/2011

I have been going to Bret's Independent for a couple of years, and every time I have called the timeliness is very good. He usually gets me right in, and he is very upfront about what the issue might be. His quality is always better than I expected. I had an extraordinary experience with him a couple of weeks ago. My car was acting up again, it was something he fixed about a year and a half ago, and also my middle consul had gone out. I called the Acura dealership, but they never called me back. Bret found and fixed the other issue right away, and even though he would get no money from it, he is the one who pursued Acura to fix my consul at no charge to me. He goes above and beyond for his clients, and he is an honest guy. more

I have been going to Bret for years. I have gone through two Hondas with him and have now purchased a Nissan. It is not new, and I don't have any warranty restrictions, so I will be going to Bret's Independent for my Nissan too. I referred my daughter to him, she has a Honda, because I felt that he would take care of her. He is really, really honest, and that is a biggie for me. The quality is very good. We had a little problem with my daughter's car, someone in Bret's shop made a mistake, and he fixed it immediately with no charge. He was very upset that it had happened. It was taken care of immediately, and now it is working well. That shows me that if something happens to go wrong, Bret will back it up and fix it. I refer people to him and tell them that if you want someone who is honest, tells the truth, and won't add on additional charges for things that don't need to be fixed, go to Bret's Independent. Totally safe with Bret's Independent. 12/8/2010

Bret's Independent is the best. I have been using them for several years now as a single female, and I feel totally safe driving my car anywhere. I recently drove out of state, and I didn't have to worry about it breaking down or having any problems. I feel safe in my car. They have done some major work for me. I had an 18 year old Integra, and he kept it going for me until I got a newer car. He gets me in and out, and he is great at not throwing a huge amount at his customers all at one point. Bret has kept me going. 11/5/2010

I am very happy with Bret's Independent. I have been using Bret's for 13 years. I had been very skeptical of going to mechanics in the past, and I continued to use a couple of different mechanics early on, but Bret has never let me down. And, if by chance by chance there is a problem, he makes it right. Bret is very straightforward. If he comes across something unexpected that needs fixed, he makes recommendations about wherther it needs done now or later down the road. And, he keeps my 91 civic going strong. I had had an experience with the dealership where they would have had me replace my car, and that was probably 10 years ago. Bret has kept me going. more

Satisfied long time client who wouldn't go anywhere else. 10/7/2010

Bret has been my mechanic for probably 15 plus years now. He has worked on every car I have had during that time. I used to have Hondas, so before I bought my last car, which was a Toyota, I made sure he would work on it. If he tells me I need something, I drop the keys in his hand and know he is going to do the right thing for me. It is nice to have a mechanic I trust so much. The most important thing is his honesty and fair service. I know you can trust him to do the right thing for the right price. He has the expertise to deal with cars and will take care of you. more

Cautious customer comes to admire and laud independent car mechanic. 9/22/2010

I have used Bret's services off and on for the last 10 years. I have used him only intermittently because for the most part I did not have the types of cars he specializes in, mainly Hondas and Toyotas. However, I have seen him regarding my daughter's car and my friends' cars. More recently I have asked him advice about purchasing used cars. He has, what I consider, a generous and unusual policy of doing a buyer's inspection at no cost to the potential purchaser. It is unusual, and, like everything he does, a highly professional and useful service. I have come to regard Bret with great respect. That goes for the people working at Bret's Independent as well, for I know his standards are exceptionally high. I can give him an unqualified recommendation for the king of work he says he's in business for, which is primarily Japanese cars. He has also done work for me on American cars, but he acknowledges that he is less knowledgeable when it comes to American models. However, he is still a good source of information and as honest as the day is long. more
