DIRTY, VERY DIRTY 2/16/2011

This place has gone downhill dramatically in the last year or so. I was there the other day and it looked like the floors have never been cleaned. The area where you get ice and beverage was so dirty no health dept. would or should approve of this. the windows were filthy the bathrooms were so dirty. I can only IMAGINE how the kitchen is being kept if the is what you CAN see. DISGUSTING! and to top it all off i ended up pay ing about $11.00 for a sandwich, chips and ice tea. what a rip off. if i was not pressed for time i certainly would have just wallked out.. Now wonder the people who work there seemed to be all frowned up. I will not be going back. I think it will soon go the way of the Atlanta Bread Company from down the street. Same scenario, owners/managers got greedy and would not put money back into basic care of the place and it went south. go somewhere else... more

green hill bread & company - awful 9/27/2009

ran out of soup in the afternoon but was told we could take some out of their cooler and heat it up at home.. huh? turkey salad bland, fruit tea sour, flan was actually pudding. complained to the manager and got the money back for dessert but he proclaimed the tea '' fine'' this place is a waste of time and money. Pros: nothing Cons: loss of money more

From the Inside 6/30/2009

I use to work for this company and I can certainly say that it has it good and bad sides. The food is good but not the best that I ever had and yes it is a high priced place to eat a salad and sandwich. The cookies are high. The employees are good but they are under paid because their pay was cut 15%. I don't usually bash a company that I have worked for because the companies that I have worked for are really companies not pretenders. Now the other day I was in Franklin visiting my parents and we went to the Cool Springs location and I have to say that it was good food and the workers were nice but the prices are still high. My mother wanted to try it out and that is the only reason that I went there for what we paid we could have went to Chili's and got the two for one drinks. It is sad because when I started with Bread and Company I was promised this and that. The promise of growth, the promise of change. Well, the only thing that I saw was the fall of something that was going no where. And now that I am a customer or I use to be a customer I see what the guest that once complained to me were talking about. It is a shame that no one in this company knows how to run a restaurant business. It is also good to have Bread and Company around so that others can see what not to do if you want to start your own business. From the other side of the counter I really knew what the customers were going through with the menu choices and the prices but the guest never knew what the workers were going through trying to get the upper management to help the guest. Trust me all we got was excuses too. There are better places to eat that will treat you like you are paying for a service. Some even treat you better. Hopefully one day Bread will know the real meaning of Company and treat the employees like they need to be treated and the customers as guest. Pros: It's a Building Cons: They Call it a Company more

GOODBYE - PLANTED CITYSEARCH REVIEWS - AVOID - used to eat AND work here 2/12/2009

This company has gone downhill faster than a greased toboggan on Mt. Everest! Consider: Why is there still not a website after two years of ""coming soon"". Why are there fewer employees and higher prices? Why won't the owner answer any customers complaints, etc? \r \r This company PLANTS REVIEWS on citysearch!!! I witnessed it although it was supposed to be a ""secret at administration"" but we heard about it and I witnessed it. Look around November 2006 through early 2007!!!! For ALL locations except this one so far? Who are the one-time or few-time reviewers with the 5-star ratings in the middle of all the other negative feedback??? INSIDERS. Hiding the fact that the owner is off fishing all over the world with YOUR $$$ rather than caring about your purchases. Or enjoying one of two Belle Meade houses. If you are employee that won't be abused or who has morals - find a job somewhere else!!!! Mommy really screwed up giving sweet sonny this business - it was great before he took it!\r \r Don't support the mentioned and unmentionable ""habits"" - Jersey Mikes and others will treat you right and have owners who care!!!! more

Saying GOODBYE to Bread and Company 12/29/2008

My family has been eating at Bread and Company for years. Yes it is pricey, but the sandwiches are out of this world. Recently learned that our ""13th is free"" cards were no longer valid as they had transitioned to a swipe card as opposed to a hole-punch card. It was all fine and dandy until they informed us that they would not credit the swipe cards with the current hole punches we had for all of the other dozen sandwiches we had purchases over time. Screw it, I'm done with the overpriced sandwiches and $3 cookies. Jersey Mike's is so much better. \r \r Pros: Food isnt bad Cons: Pricing, lack of parking in most locations, screwing customers out of the 1 free sandwich a year more

Dont eat the chicken salad 6/17/2007

This place was really confusing and over priced and worst of all the chicken salad made me so sick that I was throwing up all night and when I told one of my friends she said that the same think had happened to her when she ate the chicken salad so be careful! Pros: ? Cons: Made me sick, confusing, over priced more

EXCELLENT place! 11/15/2005

I ate here for the first time today and I must say that my experience was fantastic! They are very understaffed but the staff I did come in contact with were amazing. All were friendly and very knowledgeable in their products. I will certainly be back! Pros: great staff, great food more

Great Food-With an operations and staff problem. 9/23/2005

I eat here, a lot. Mostly during lunch. The food is excellent and expensive, but the lines are horrific. There is a line for soup, a line for sandwiches, a line for salads, then a final line to pay, and ussully one employee to service each line. They could easily design a better flow to the purchase of food. I have had the manager there comp my meal because he knows I am a regular and observed me wait in line an unusually long period of time a few months ago. It always feel like they were surprised that people showed up for lunch! Pros: Great Sandwiches, Unique food items, Big Salads Cons: Expensive, Multiple lines, Confusing layout more
