Awesome food, needs better service 12/1/2008

This is some of the best Italian food I've ever tasted. And coming from the east coast, that says a lot. Just wish they hired more English speaking personnel! The sauce in the pizza is AMAZING, fantastic meatballs and all the desserts are from Ferrara Bakery/Cafe (The institution) on Grand St. in NYC!!!!! (Apparently they're the same owners!!) Just wish the staff was as hospitable as the owner (and as literate!). more

New York Pizza in Santa Monica! That's what I call heaven! 7/1/2008

Being a former New Yorker, I sometimes just need my pizza fix... and what LA people think of Pizza Hut and Dominos' being good pizza... well... you people need to get out more. I've gone to a lot of pizza places claiming to have New York pizza, but I have to say Bravo hits the spot! They've got AMAZING pizza. I'm so lucky that I finally found that place. Also, if you're crazing for a canoli... if you don't know what a canoli is... well.. you're missing out. It's an Italian cream filled delight... that's out of this world... and the only place that has great canoli's in LA is Bravo's! What's can I say... I'm in heaven! Pros: The Canoli, the Pizza, the outdoor sunny patio more

Good Pizza 3/7/2008

Pizza was pretty good. Service was slow but worth the wait. Price was reasonable. Would recommend for someone willing to wait. more

Best pizza in LA 9/24/2007

I have been living in LA for about five years and am originally from new york. I am very picky about my pizza, but this is the best pizza available in LA. Pros: The Pizza Cons: There is only one location more

Best NY Pizza in West LA 7/16/2007

I've lived in the area for about two years now. When you first move into a new area, you look for ""your bests""; these are the places that you go to when you want something specific. When you want to impress a visitor, you tell them to go here...or better yet, you take them there as an excuse to go back again. After sampling at least six different NY pizza places in the area, I've found my ""Best NY PIzza"" in Bravos. I've tried some of their variety and often find myself ordering either one of their cheese pizzas. Typically, I'm all about the topics, which is why I love thin crust. At Bravos, I eat the entire slice, even the crust. If you want NY Pizza, go to Bravos. (If someone can now help me find a good Chicago Deep Dish, that'd be great.) more

Great Pizza, Nice outside dining area, Great customer service, Open Late. 7/15/2007

About 2 weeks ago my family and I were looking for a place to eat. We ordered a sausage and pepperoni pie, and asked for a pasta & Chicken Parmigiano. the pizza was great, chicken fabulous but best of all was the surprise guest & show! A little Pomeranian named Austin invited himself to dinner. Much to my daughter's delight dinner now had an added attraction an employee, Johnnie and his skateboarding/skiing sidekick, Austin. I've seen dogs on Mtv but never seen one ""fly."" Truly amazing. If I didn't like the pizza I'd come back just to see the ""show."" The staff is friendly and the food held up to my pampered NY taste buds! Bravo Pizzeria is one of those small hidden gems that all the locals know about but don't always tell. Sorry guys, I let out the secrets. Bravo Pizzeria is easily becoming one of our favorite family eats! Oh, yeah the cannoli...Ferrara's the best in the Universe. Keep up the good work guys! Pros: Open late. Service with a smile, nice outside dining patio, and ""THE FLYIN LION."" Cons: It's a small place so if you're not into wait times you might want to try early evening or calling ahead. more

Everyone knows your name 6/20/2007

There's a lot of competition on Main Street for Pizza, but Bravo offers a good variety of food and excellent sauces, cheeses, and fresh flavors to deliver the real deal straight from NY. Best part about this place is you can get a real live Canoli from Ferrara's in Little Italy--it took me about 14 yrs of going here to make this connection! NY'ers--GET OVER HERE! (boston natives, we love you even if you are Sox fans)...we love the Meat Lovers pizza and Rigatoni ala Farma (from Bravo Cucina on 3rd Street Promenade). Bravo is one of the most community friendly businesses and very supportive of the local schools--we all should support small business--they have a lot of heart! Pros: food, patio, canolis more

Order only if you want to wait, wait, wait for the wrong, wrong, wrong delivery. 5/12/2007

I should have taken the hint when the guy who took my delivery order, slurring his words together, quoted a price of $29.95 for a salad. Yes, he was joking but, it was a terrible sign for the rest of my experience.\r \r Firstly, their website misquotes the Salad Della Casa (which was distinctly similar to OLD Trader Joe's salad mix, put into a plastic container with little more) as costing $6.95 but, upon receiving the bill for 2, cost me $17.00 before tax, you do the math.\r \r They delivered the wrong pizza (I ordered a Margherita pizza, got a pepperoni pizza. Even when really drunk, I wouldn't imagine someone confusing the two words but so it was...). Additionally, the calzone we ordered was barely cooked, the cheese inside was hardly beginning to melt. \r \r But to top it all of was the delivery guy, could not pass the bill to me without dropping it three times (another intoxicated employee?) and dropping packets of chili flakes all over my front door and leaving without a word. This, after an 1 hour and 45 minute wait (we live maybe 10 minutes from the place)??? \r \r The food is awful, the service can the place continue to afford even its rent on pricey Main Street, Santa Monica? This is another example of restaurants surviving off of misinformation and customers? first time ignorance. Please, do yourself a favor, order from ANYWHERE else. Cons: Long delivery time, wrong order, intoxicated employees more

Lousy Pizza even worse service 1/9/2007

This is the first and LAST time i will ever get pizza from this place. I tried it because it was tauted as ""The Best Pizza In LA"" , this has to be the worst Pizza on the planet. I come from the East Coast, where if you have ever been to Pepe's in New Haven Connecticut (the BEST on the PLANET) you know what i am talking about. At Bravo, the crust was so doughy and soft i thought it was part doughnut. The service was no better. This was a call in & pick up order and the guys behind the counter are so cool the have a conversation while they let let your pizza get cold and then you have the pleasure of paying them alot of money for something they should pay you to eat. Do yourself a favor and skip this joint. It's worth missing.... more

Great after-clubbing snack 11/22/2006

I've been here a few times after hitting the clubs and bars on Main St. It's cheap, by-the-slice, and perfectly decent, not to mention they're open late. It works for me. I can see this place getting very crowded during the day. Pros: good pizza, open late more

Good Pizza, Really Bad Service 11/18/2006

I don?t get this restaurant; the food is really good but is completely over shadowed by the poor service you always receive when you walk through the door. The cute stoner pizza boys loose their charm quickly as you continue to stand in the front waiting to be acknowledged so you can place or pick up your order. I want to like this place!!! It is walking distance from my house and the food is favorable, but time and time again I try and beat the system by 1) Calling a head of time? good luck, you will be trying for over an hour due to the busy signal, then wait 20 mins while they ignore you at the counter 2) Calling for delivery ? once you get passed the busy signal, they may or may not show up with your pizza, plus you will never get the right order (missing salad dressing, wrong pizza etc.) 3) Placing the order at the restaurant where you will sit and wait for over 50 mins to get the wrong #$%* pizza! I know this is LA, but getting a pizza should not be this hard. Until management wakes up and realizes they are in the ?service industry? I will not go back. Pros: Good Food Cons: Good food ruined by bad service more

decent delivery 11/16/2006

We had a pizza delivered from here, and it was ok. Nice amount of toppings, tasty but nothing special. Was pretty expensive for what it was, but they got it to us quick and piping hot. more

Great pizza, great customer service! 10/17/2006

Bravo Pizza is amazingly delicious. The best pizza i've ever had. Their food is so fresh and made with the kind of care you'd imagine comes from a truly loving home. I brought my family from ny. Everything they make is so good. They have fresh pastas, sandwiches and delicious chocolate cannolis from the original Ferrara Cafe. Wow. And to top that, they have a great counter staff that actually care about Great service and that welcome you as if you're part of their extended family. I encourage you to treat yourself to this little piece of magic in Santa Monica. Pros: Excellent food and excellent service. Easy to park around the back more

Good Food, Bad Service 10/14/2006

The pizza is good, but the service... not so much. Apparently they think its more important to refill their inventory than help the 5 people waiting. This isn't just one occasion either. \r \r Also, pricey! $19 for fettucini alfredo w/ chicken? C'mon. Pros: Tasty, different pizza Cons: Bad service, pricey more

Good food, terrible delivery service. 8/8/2006

The food is alright but forget about delivery. You'll never get your food and they won't bother to call to tell you the driver flaked. It's happened to me once and I let it go, but after the second time I don't order from there anymore. Go with Dominos or Pizza Hut. At least they show up. Pros: good food Cons: terrible delivery service more

Best Pie on the Westside 7/27/2006

I'm from North Jersey and was weened on the best pizza in the country. I've been living in L.A. for two years, and these guys make the best pie I've tasted since I've been in SoCal. Not only do they make great pie for the region, but they stack up against some of my old haunts in Jersey and NYC. \r \r They use decent cheese, which means you don't have to deal with the ""runny orange oil slick."" If Bravo starts using cheap mozz on their pies, you'll know by the oil congealing in pools on top of your slice. If I start seeing that, I'm going to say something to the staff, who, by the way is always very cool, very friendly, and good people.\r \r They either make, or buy good sauce, too, but they need to use a little more, for my taste.\r \r The crust is exactly what I demand in an East Coast style pie. Not too thick, not too thin, and good ingredients. In general, you want it fresh. If it's reheated, or out too long, the crust will crumble on you, once it's out of the oven. But that's a universal rule.\r \r I've only ever had one other menu item, beside Bravo's pizza: a meatball parm sandwich. I will not have another one of those. The meatballs were tiny, mealy, and tasted like they came from a bag of Costco specials. The sub was sub-par, and consisted mainly of bread, accented with some cheese, and the aforementioned ""meatballs.""...for what? $10? Do I have to say it? FUHGEDDABODIT! SCHIVO!\r \r But I do like their pies, and Bravo has very cool people running the store, so I will try some other subs. After all, they import Ferrara cannoli, and that's love.\r \r Mangia bene! Pros: good pie, serves beer, open late Cons: parking's pain more

The best- awesome owners and food 3/15/2006

Love this place. The people who work there are very cool- the owners are the best and their NY pizza is so good- I just love it. I eat there at least once a week and everyone that I have turned onto this place loves it. Check it out. Pros: quality ingredients, many options, fun staff more

Pizza is excellent, just a little pricey 1/29/2006

The lunch-time crowd is fairly light, which makes this an easy place to eat without any hassle. The pizza by the slice is good, but $$. $3/slice? Ouch. It's a hearty size, though. There's a nice patio which is great in warm weather. It's very shady, so a little chilly on cool/cloudy beach days. Inside seating is bar-style only, at a counter by the window. Overall, a nice local pizza shop. Tasty pizza, lots of other menu choices. Far better pizza than any in the area that I've tried. Pros: Pizza, Patio Cons: Price more
