Boot Bunkhouse

I tried the Bunkhouse and found it to be a great place. I thought I was a 12C foot size but the owner showed me I was really a 11 1/2B. Talk about hard to fit. He found just what I was looking for though in a straighforward undecorated pair of Nocona's. I love the boots, they fit better than any I've ever owned in my 60+ years. Have no problem with the quality either. Maybe I got lucky, or vice versa. \r Anyway, I highly recommend this store. more

I always wanted to buy a pair of cowboy boots and I thought that during my trip to Tucson, I could find a good pair there. I first tried Boot Barn, and while their selection is good, sales reps kept coming back to me every 2 minutes to offer their help and complementing me on every pair I would try on. Very annoying. So I looked on my GPS and found Book Bunkhouse. As soon as I entered, I love the store. It's small, but they have a good selection and the owner is so nice. It took the time to help me select a pair of boot, gave me advice and set the pair aside for me to come back the next morning to purchase it. He was very knowledgeable, he even spent time to show me the differences between all the boots. Back home, I gave him a call to know how to care for my boots and he was once more very helpful. He sounded bummed I was not in Tucson anymore for him to give me a ""lesson"" on how to take care of my boots! I love that kind of stores. I highly recommend! more

I was looking for boots on a brief trip to Arizona. After shopping around at a few other stores, I found Boot Bunkhouse in the phone book. I called, asking if the store had boots in my size (a particularly large size), and the salesman assured me we'd be able to find something. I headed down and was a bit taken aback by Boot Bunkhouse's size- it's a small store, but from the moment I stepped in, it was full of heart. I understand the cliche of this statement, but let me reiterate: especially on vacation, I don't want to be herded like the cattle that made my boots by some teenager trying to sell me whatever gives him the biggest commission. The one salesman (Chuckie, if memory serves correctly) was very genial and full of good advice. I left with two pairs- one for me, one for my wife. My boots are still in top shape, but next time I'm in Tucson, I'll be sure to once again stop by the Boot Bunkhouse for another pair. I enjoyed not only my purchase, but the process of purchasing- the salesman didn't rush me through my purchase, and was able to answer any questions I had. A top notch buying experience. I bought a pair of Nocona boots ($229.95 + tax) based on their salesperson's recommendation. They looked and fit good. Only eighty one days later I had worn a half-inch hole through the sole. I've worn boots for the last 20+ years and even in my younger motorcycle-riding days, have never had to even think about resoling a pair of boots in under a year. I brought them back and was told they don't guarantee against wear. I then produced my original sales receipt, and asked if these boots generally had a life expectancy of under 90 days. I was told: ""No, that's unusual, these are my best selling boots and I never have problems with them."" This is no longer true as I have, in no uncertain terms, made them aware of a problem with their best selling boots. Yet, here I am having to buy a replacement pair of boots while they send this pair to the Justin (yes, Nocona is made by Justin) factory for inspection. Can anyone guess what brand of boot I did not buy, and where i did not make this second purchase?
