Beware 11/17/2018

Had this company come out for annual maintenance, inspection, cleaning of heat pump system. Huge mistake. Tech spent most of his time trying to up sell us to a new system, when most of it was only 4 years old. Never had a problem with our system until about 2 weeks after Black Hills tech was here. Our system burnt up while we were sleeping. Woke up to a house full of smoke. We could have died. Upon inspection by emergency crew that came out (not Black Hills), coil was never cleaned. System was severely low on refrigerant with no obvious leak in the system. ?? It only leaves the system in two ways... a leak, or it is removed. Refrigerant does not evaporate and system does not burn it like a car does oil. Our system components are completely ruined and must be entirely replaced. Black Hills will not benefit in any way from this. BEWARE!! BEWARE!! BEWARE!! more

Excellent service 10/14/2016

I appreciate the service provided by Black Hills. They send a picture of the tech so that I will recognize authenticity which I appreciate. Travis is very professional and thorough. They called wanting to come earlier than the scheduled time which I also appreciated. My only negative comment is not about Travis but this is the second year that they did not come in 6 months to replace the filters. Travis agreed to get it straightened out. more

Heat Pump Problems 8/4/2016

It was a very hot day and our heat pump was making it worse by only putting out hot air. We called Black Hills Heating and Air to service system and solve the problem. The staff member who came to our house was very professional. He looked into the problem, found the cause, fixed it and explained the problem to us. I am a tough sell on any company but I found Black Hills Heating and Air to be very good at their job and would recommend them to anyone who needs their services. more

Great Service! 7/19/2016

I've always heard the radio commercials for Black Hills Heating and Air. I finally called to see what our options were to add Central Air to our new home. They did not disappoint! Ryan conducted a full review and gave us a couple of options to choose from. We will have AC added to home later this month. more

Review of home heating system and options for an upgrade 7/9/2016

David did a very professional job of reviewing our present heating system and explaining our options and costs for a system upgrade. He arrived on time and was able to address our questions and concerns. Soon after his visit we had a family emergency and our priorities changed so this project has taken a back seat. We will take this project back up when the time is right. more

The business: My experience was simply outstanding from my first phone call, and I can recommend them without hesitation. After scheduling, I received a phone call and an email from them with information on who would be doing my service, along with a photo and an estimated arrival time. Also got a phone call prior to the technician arriving. And yes, he was on time. The people: Brittany (customer service rep) was exceptionally helpful, and called me back to confirm dates and times, along with sending me information on who would be providing my service. Tim (service technician) was truly outstanding - he did a great job and was very friendly and polite. He wore booties, did a fine job explaining what he was doing, and made a VERY positive impression on me about this company. more

Professional Bid to Install Heat Pump 6/29/2016

A Black Hills representative visited my home to bid on installing a heat pump. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He also provided a bid immediately while we discussed my needs and answered all my questions. The company has a range of products from good, better to best to offer. The representative provided bid options for each of these categories and detailed current rebates programs. I recommend Black Hills for HVAC needs. more

Black Hills, BEST Company Ever!! 5/19/2016

We have had work done by Black Hills over the years and they are the best. We did try one other company when we moved, but found out they were like most companies, in it to get as much money from you as they can. Black Hills is up front with their costs, so you know what the amount will be before you even hang up the phone. And they stick to that cost! They are very professional, friendly and informative..... they let you know exactly what they are doing and even show before and after pictures of the job they're doing, as they're doing it. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family or fiends. They will always be the company I turn too for any heating and cooling service I will ever need. They completed the job..........WELL DONE............for a price I could afford! And I WILL use them again. :) more
