My friends and I ate at Bird in Hand in Pa on Dec 4th, 2010 and to our dismay after taking the turkey dinner from the buffet, my friend discovered a used bandaid in his mouth that he picked up with his fork from the turkey dinner and thought it was part of the dinner until he realized it was a used bandaid! We made an issue out of it of course....plus my other friend's meat was served raw...plus my pork and sour kraut had no pork in it! They offered to give a discount on the meal but I was not satisfied with that! My friend felt sick from having the bandaid in his mouth. We didn't pay a thing and ate what we could, but we refused to pay a thing. Don't ever go there! more

Excellent place for good homemade food 9/2/2009

Bird-in-hand Family Resturant is,I have to say the best family style resturant I've ever been to. The staff is amazing. They are so friendly. We've been there many times and not one time had to complain about the service.The food is out of this world and the bufett is incredible. The portions are well worth the trip alone.I can't forget to mention their yummy desserts. \r If you live in York or Harrisburg,do yourself a favor and take a little ride to visit this place. You won't be dissapointed! Pros: friendly staff,excellent food,amazing portions! more

The food is nothing special. The setup is ok, very casual dining. The buffet line has nothing to offer in terms of a delicious but nutritious meal. They have noodles, high sodium macaroni, the stuffing was dry, there was no rotisserie chicken, just fried, fried batterladen shrimp. I think the only thing I enjoyed was the mashed potatoes. I wouldnt recommend at all. There were a lot more places around this area Pros: prices are low Cons: food $ucks more

DO NOT EAT HERE 3/26/2006

I am local. I USED to eat here frequently, then it happenned. As my husband and I were finishing our breakfast next to the buffet table, the cook comes out of the kitchen. She then proceeds to wipe her runny nose down the side of her hand and inside of her arm. THEN she REARRANGES THE FOOD ON THE BUFFET TABLE! As if that isn't bad enough, when I notified the manager, he INSISTED that we pay, but we 'gracious' enough to give us gift certificates to cover 50% of our check! We haven't returned since. For the sake of your health, stay away. Cons: filthy employees, mucous in food, terrible management more

Great Family dinning 8/8/2003

This place is great. It is like sitting with a big family for dinner. They bring out big plates of all diffrent kinds foods to each table, where you sit with other families and share. At first we thought no way, but once you talk to other people at your table from all over the counrty it becomes very nice. I love the sweet corn you will not regret trying out this restaurant.
