I love Bill Miller BBQ! Sure, there are plenty of other good BBQ places in San Antonio, but I still like Bill Millers regardless of all the negative reviews I've seen here. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/9/2014

NO MORE CONDIMENT BAR! Gone are the pickles, onions, white bread rolls, wheat bread rolls and butter for dine-in service, which made up for the average, but well priced food. The restaurant has been reduced to bare bone dining with no free refills for tea. Drove by the Loop 410 and Nacogdoches store at 7 p.m. and the dining room was empty. Will not go again. more

rudys puts this place to shame 3/22/2010

I just had the ribs and brisket. The brisket tasted dry and plain. the sauce did not help compliment any of the flavors. The ribs tasted like i was eating unflavored pork, i tasted no smoke and barely and seasoning besides some pepper on the ribs. Ill be sticking with rudys for the rest of my stay here. Pros: hash brown is good Cons: meats taste flavorless and dry more

Don't Bother 1/22/2009

This is the absolutely worst meal I have ever eaten - or attempted to eat in any restaurant, anywhere. We ordered the ""lite"" 1/4 chicken, which was very undercooked and so full of fat and grease as to render it inedible. Pros: stick with the salad Cons: nothing else is edible more

Bill Miller BBQ is Second to None! 1/8/2009

I've been stationed in San Antone several times and have never found a better BBQ place both flavor and value-wise than Bill Miller. It's a standard issue, cafeteria-style BBQ spot all over the local region and their BBQ is very tasty and tender and'll never let you down. A few things that distinguish them from the rest of the pack includes their outstanding hash brown potatoes, green beans in a savory sauce, Texas-sized iced tea and a condiment station that's just right. The condiment buffet includes free items such as crispy pickled onions, the best pico-de-gallo in the city, pickles, et al, along with a choice of white and pumpernickel bread. Their pico is so good I usually make a salad out of it and I'm tellin' ya it's not only muy delicioso, but it'll clear out your sinuses as well! If you're ever visiting or move here, trust me, you'll love Bill Miller if your looking for delicious Texas BBQ at reasonable prices! Anyone who rates Bill Miller BBQ less than 5 stars is a spy from a competitor, trust me on this one sports fans! more

Best Bar-B-Q for the $$$$$$ 11/29/2008

Hey, I like brisket as much as or more than the next Texan, but there is more to great bar-b-q than just brisket. What about tasty, mouth-watering ribs; juicy sausage; a boatload of delicious sides; handmade pies and sinfully sweet tea, which Bill Miller has--Not to mention fried chicken rivaling that of the guys who only do chicken and the best breakfast tacos anywhere. more

Bill Miller restaurant rate 5 stars 9/26/2008

all our family love bill miller i move to san angelo tx and they dont have one more

Worst BBQ I've ever had ! 9/5/2007

I should have read review before I visited this BBQ joint. I ordered a sliced beef sandwich. I received chunks of bbq full of fat on a sesame seed hoagie type bun with little bbq sauce on it. The beef resembled corned beef with fat. The bread was partially dried out, which is common with old bread. I then ordered a side of green beans which was good and the best part of the meal. Two thumbs down for that place. more

Gives BBQ a Bad Name 5/15/2007

Why Bill Miller's has survived these many years in beyond logic. The only good thing about this place are the sides (hash browns, pinto beans, green beans, etc..). The meats and the BBQ sauce are HORRID. There is a lean type of meat you can order but even that has way too much fat in it. Skip this place and go to a place like Rudy's or County Line if you are a tourist. Pros: Service time Cons: Meats and BBQ Sauce more

Nothing compares 11/13/2006

I don't live in Texas anymore, but I would move back in a heartbeat for just one reason...Bill Miller Bar-B-Q! The brisket and accompanying sauce is amazing, the ribs fall off the bone. I'm salivating just thinking about it. Bill Miller....please come to Colorado!!!!!!! more

Try Somewhere Else For BBQ 12/23/2005

This was the worst meal I have had in a long time. The beef bisket was fatty to the point of being unpalatable. The sides I had, homefries, beans, dinner roll, were unaccessable as well. The potatoes were charred, the bean were bland and the dinner roll was not fresh. The one exception was the cole slaw which was fresh and well spiced. Best to be avoided. Pros: good parking, quickly served Cons: bad food, poor ambiance more

I've had better. 10/30/2005

While visisting San Antonio in July we were told to try Bill Miller's because they had the best BBQ. After agreeing to have lunch there I would have to disagree. Cheap? Yeah, but that's because you don't get a lot for a serving. Also, it has no taste. It's very bland. I wouldn't recommend. more

Average Fast Food But Nothing More 8/27/2005

The food is average at best. If you don't have much time and are particular it is the place to go. It was good when I was a kid but now it just ok. Pros: Inexpensive, Fast, Good Tea Cons: Bland, Not Real BBQ more

bill millers 4/1/2004

this is turely the best barbecue food i had when i lived in texas. it is so good the tea is great also. i highly recommend eating here, its money well spent Pros: Great food, Not too expensive, Great service more

What about the Malt House? 10/15/2003

Bill Miller's is average at best. The food is bland and greasy and the fries are usually soggy. I will say they have great sweet tea and pretty good chicken. The best bargain in town is the Malt House. The menu has a greater variety and the prices are better. Where else can you feed a group of 8 for under $30, including dessert. Pros: Lots of Locations, Good Tea Cons: Bland Food more

Not as good as they use to be 7/7/2003

Was not as good as they use to be - their family BBQ meal that was suppose to feed 3 - 5 people was barely enough to feed 2. Serving of meat to feed 3 - 5 people was only 2 dry ribs and 4 thin slices of beef (one mostly all fat and not edible) and then 3 small sides - thank goodness for the loaf of bread - We ended up going to McDonalds down the street from our hotel to feed the kids. So this ended up costing us well over $20+ dollars to feed our family and we will never visit Bill Millers again when in San Antonio. Never go through the drive through - because you will never know what you get until its to late. Pros: Good Sweet Tea Cons: Dont go there hungry more

rude people bad bbq 2/7/2003

I have eaten at Bill Millers 2 times, both times the employees were rude, both times the food was very bad. more

Chris Madrids 2/7/2003

The best burgers and cold beer in San Antonio. The food is served hot and the service is great. Burgers are so big you may not finish them. Pros: reasonable more

Weighs every last drop of fat! 2/7/2003

Stingy on the meat. Weighs every serving to the last drop of lard. 1/4 lb of brisket and 3 very small sides are not much of a serving for a grown man. Pros: Fast, Fresh, Good Condiments Cons: Not a Good Value, Small Servings, Charges for refills more

Bad food 2/7/2003

Lots of bones in the chicken, chewy squishy pieces of chicken, no flavor.....need I say more. (Awesome sweet iced tea) Pros: Good sweet iced tea more
