Big Lots has very cheap items. The quality of the all the items is not as good as at more expensive stores though. It is useful if you need something in a hurry, like socks or plates or anything like that. I wouldn't do my regular shopping there though. Some of their toys on the other hand are name brand, the same as sold in other stores, like Barbie dolls. These are a few dollars cheaper than at other stores. Big Lots has such a huge variety of items, the store is a bit crowded too.
