I flew to Midland on business and drove over to Big Spring.  After finding Big John's Feed Lot on CitySearch, I was too intrigued by the name NOT to eat there.  It was great!  The brisket was tender and juicy and the ribs were meaty with very little fat.  I liked the potato salad because it had very little celery in it; maybe none. (a personal preference).  A tupperware jar of jalapeno peppers sits on the table, so help yourself.  The waitress was attentive without being bothersome.  The decorations on the walls give it a rustic feel.  But make no mistake, with plastic forks and knives and styrofoam plates; this is a straight up BBQ joint.  In my opinion, a pretty good compliment for any purveyor of smoked meats!
