If you're like me, you have a chocolate sweet tooth. The problem I find with so many chocolate products, and often with cakes, is that the sugar content is so high that it detracts from savoring the chocolate. Thus, someone introduced me to Ruwan's chocolate cake....without a doubt, he probably used the least amount of sugar, but with the richest dark verona chocolate to create a truly delicious treat that didn't leave me feeling like I needed to head straight for the treadmill to work it off. A not-so-guilty pleasure, perhaps? Maybe I am stretching that a bit, but Ruwan Gunatilake's cakes are not only incredible, but his artistry is stunning, as he decorated the top of my birthday cake with gold leaves and cursive writing in a penmenship that would leave the design of any wedding invitation in the dark ages. This artist, from Srilanka, is worthy of your consideration for great pastries and cakes.
