In a word...marvelous.
I just came back from Bev Dwane's beautiful offices where she treated me to a complimentary make up consult. Any of you who were able to make to her great workshop on wardrobe info/assessments/101/S.O.S got a complimentary card to do this consult too.
WoW. Bev knows her stuff. She custom blends, she shows you how, most importantly, she gets to the point. She asked me how much time I have for make up (read 0 to little), what are my areas of concern, what am I most interested in. For me, I was pretty dubious about mineral make up. I've seen it everywhere and quite frankly, I haven't been that crazy about it. It can look chalky and heavy to me. But like many things, the difference is in the quality of the individual products lines. The line she's using is REALLY good. I love the eye shadow & lip colors and I LOVE the powder. It's light, it's silky and I can see my skin through it! Which is just part of the customization of the line. She told me she can formulate a powder that can be as translucent or as opaque as needed; so for any scars or sun damage, she can cover those too. I think the other thing that really impressed me was the total lack of selling that I experienced. The session was just what it was meant to be. A fun hour of playing with makeup and learning about some new techniques and products.
Sorry if I sound like I'm raving...what did you mix into that powder, Bev??
