Benkowski Builders

I posted this on another site, but my family and I lost our house to the bank and we moved into a Benkowski apartment. It was a nice place and the rent was decent. I didn't experience any problems with doorknobs or the landlord - just our experience. We're back in a house now, but would rent from them again if need be. Hope this review helps. more

I didn't have too many problems with them (besides them being a bit slow to fix our rental problems) until we moved out. They charged us money for a doorknob they insisted that WE changed. To find out later, they were not up to code on the doorknob and wanted to charge us for the code update! To think that they videotaped the house before we moved in, and yet they refused to review that when I called about it. On top of that, they were completely unprofessional, never returned my phone calls, and I ended up losing the money. If you have issues please don't back down against their unprofessionalism and fight for your security deposit!! more

Absolutely the best folks to rent from in the Milwaukee metro area. Have rented from them a couple of times. Each time properties were clean, freshly painted and in good repair on move in.\r \r Very responsive and quick to fix things when maintenance issues arise. Just moved from Chicago to South Milwaukee for work. My family and I rented from Benkowski Builders and got a very nice apartment for a reasonable monthly rate. Pros: Proximity to Milwaukee. Large apartments. more

Horrible landlords! Do not listen to their tenants, and the owner thinks he is ALWAYS right, which is far from true. Told him that we needed a new roof, and he replied with "" what do you know that I don't ?"" Well what I do know is the roof is all moldy and there are 2 holes in it. Charges crazy amounts for damages that were already here before I moved in. Never let me walk through the house before I moved in. Charged me $100 for his cleaning service to clean the refridgerator, I could have cleaned my fridge! The fact is that he never consulted me that it needed to be cleaned (going back to the fact that I could not walk through the house before I moved in). I would NEVER reccomend them to anyone! Horrible business owner and may even report them to the betterbusinessbureau. Pros: No pros. Cons: Read my review! more
