I had started to get somewhat concerned when a month before the trip I sent an email to tell them that I had not received any information from them about the place. The return email simply said; ""Your final payment is due can we charge your card now?""......That was it! No information that I requested; no greeting, nothing. Then, I sent an email 1 week before our trip asking if everything was taken care of for our trip....no response at all.\r
We had to check in late. So, we brought all of our luggage into the room, and immediately headed to the grocery store. We returned to the condo at about 11:15 when my wife started to unload all of our belongings. As she was putting things up in the bathroom, I heard her gasp....there was a dirty towel in the bathroom. I told her they probably just missed that and to throw it in the corner. My wife then was going to take her shower before bed; another gasp. There was mold all around the tub and on the shower curtain.\r
At this point I went into the bedroom and sat on the bed (if that is what you want to call it). The bed was the CHEAPEST mattress I have ever been on, and it was in a thick plastic bag. We then pulled the covers down to inspect the mattress and the first thing that I see on the sheets is a hair; not from a head! I am starting to think, this is really bad......on the bed there were 6 hairs (not head), and a fresh mascara mark. The sheets were a dingy, yellowish color, and were crumpled; like they had been at the bottom of the bed and just pulled up. There were bunk beds in the hall. The plan was sleep on those and in the morning we have them take care of everything. The bunk beds didn't even have the sheets pulled up on them. They had pulled the comforter up over the sheets, but didn't even take the time to pull the dirty sheet up and tuck it in. Now, there is no place to sleep. (this is all not even mentioning the carpet that was stained in about 10 different spots and the counters that still had food residue on them). When I call the after hours number to try to get something taken care of.......their response to me at 1:30am when I explain everything and we have no place to sleep on our vacation.......while I am still speaking I am interrupted with, ""HEY! Is this a real emergency because all this can wait until the morning!"".......Yeah! I then informed the ""emergency operator"" that we would be going to a different condo, and I would be there in the morning to get a full refund. First thing in the morning I am at their office, and I am met by their very apologetic operations manager (who happened to be the emergency operator), who informed me that they were very sorry, and the maid that had cleaned the room had done a horrible job, and he had already been to the condo, and he realized that they had dropped the ball, and what could he do to make it up to us. I told him I really appreciate the apology, and all I would like is a full refund. HE THEN OFFERED TO GIVE ME A FULL REFUND AND PAY FOR OUR STAY AT THE OTHER CONDO if we would be willing to give them another chance. I told him that would be great, and I would be sure to call them the next visit we make to the beach. That part sounds great doesn't it! That would have made this whole ""review"" non-existent! HOWEVER, upon returning home, I am met with an email stating that they would not be paying for my stay at the other condo, and they would actually be keeping $122.80 from what I had paid them because I had not given them a weeks notice of the cancellation! (which FYI, the weeks notice that you have is for you to cancel on them not for them to give you such a disgusting room that you can't sleep so you have to go somewhere else).....I have sent numerous emails and placed numerous phone calls, none of which have been returned......So, now I have paid a group of lying cheats, $122.80 for nothing. So, give Beachside Resorts Realty a call.....if you want to get screwed on your vacation!
